The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.: |

| When we brought him in I said he was overrated with a terrible work ethic and a poor attitude.
I have seen nothing yet to make me change that view.
How many times did he come in off his wing looking for work? I counted once..........

Not sure whether that's aimed at me or not, but since I posted something about Marsh I thought I'd answer The only reason I brought Marsh into it was to point out that you wern't judging players by the same standards, thats all. I thought Marsh had an ok game, he was solid, the one thing he did show was pace when trying to get to the line. His acceleration there was brilliant!

Jesus another one.
It's not a fecking democracy.
First SL game of the season, 8th since 2006 - cut him some slack for staying in position and not wanting to get caught out.
Or would you have been part of the forgiving crew if he'd been inside looking for work when hudds moved the ball out to his wing that couple of times (e.g. when he palmed the ball away when they had a 4 on 2 overlap and would have scored).
He was rusty and nervous, the same way that Marsh was - Marsh settled as he naturally got more involved playing at centre and on the right side where most of the action was happening, Karl actually settled more as the game went on to just less noticeable due to less action on that side

I'll give you the first 3, but not the last one from this season's one outing. But then again one outing isn't really a full and fair judge of a player is it?

I don't see what Ainscough did wrong v Harlequins, the mistakes on that side came from Bailey

| After his first jittery 5 mins Pryce went ok.
He came in a couple of times to take the ball up.
His interception knock down and knock on saved a certain Hudds try.
He scored himself. Wingers are there to finish moves and score, he did that!
Nothing spectacular but being his first game after so long out playing in the reserves he will be well short of the pace needed to play a full part in 80 mins of a SL match.
He should be started again as we obviously have to now build up squads of British players following IL's comments a few days ago.
I was an Ainscough fan but last week he had a nightmare.
Perhaps Pryce is ahead of Ainscough now and alongside Marsh etc in the pecking order.
After the Hudds game Pryce deserves another first team place.
Phelps looks vulnerable and if Pat is fb until Amos returns then Pryce should be kept at 5.
If Amos is to be our fb then Phelps is vulnerable and we would be looking for a wingman to replace Amos and a centre to replace Carmont eventually. With Goulding, Pryce and Marsh around there is competition for those places from players we have in the squad now.
Keeping Pryce seems a far better proposition that it did prior to the Hudds game.
If he can be that ok after months out he could up his performance no end with some consistent appearances in the first team.
It might be worth at Widnes running with Pat, Goulding, Gleeson, Carmont and Pryce as our backs to get them used to playing together.

Yeah but if there's nothing to choose between them, surely it's fair to say that Ainscough is the better winger, as he has been based on past performances.

Past performances based on SL outings in a Wigan shirt, or past performances in total outings (pre wigan) and reserves?
If the latter it's not as clear cut imo, and even if the former in the Madge regime Shaun really does need to do more defensively - whether you like or agree with it or not

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

Agreed i'd put him in against Widnes, and i'd also give pat a 1 game rest he looks like he could use it. Gleeson i'd play if it's felt he needs match time after missing the past couple with Marsh on the bench, or I'd give Marsh another start to gain more experience.
