wane made a mistake but is nowhere near worthy of the sack. I remember last year people were on here complaining that Maguire should have rested players during the season when we fell away.

There were people saying it coming off the ground, an overreaction for sure, but when Wane wasnt necessarily everyones pick for the job, he certainly hasnt done himself any favours today.

His spouting in the press is where he makes the rod for his back, the stuff about losing games under Madge has come back on him today.

We will know a lot more at about 5pm on Good Friday.

They didn't mean all in one game just five games in! Players need a rest when they are tired not so early in the season.

This was a game to blood one or two young players and had Wane done that then I think everyone would have said that was a better approach than Madge had last season where he blooded just about no one.

Instead we have gone from one extreme to the other.

Wane has to learn from this mistake but the comments posted abut what he said on GMR that he might do the same next week are a concern. One of the best attributes for a coach is to be able to learn from their mistakes. Nobby could not and stuck to the same formula all the time he was here. Wane needs to show a bit of character and admit he over did the young player selection.

That is true. He was saying he wanted to win the games he felt we threw away or words to that effect. Well look what happened at Widnes Mr Wane.

TBF there's not many more than the OP calling for Wane to go. Nobody even has a problem with losing; the best team won. I think everyone has a right to question Wane's decision to leave out five of the squads best players and replace them with young players with little experience and no on field support.

Of course games can be lost, when you deserve to, and, equally when you don't.......it's the nature of the loss today and the team selection that's caused the reactions you're referring to.

It's only a very small minority calling for a dismissal, which is an overreaction, and, no, I think that Nobby (bless him) will not be coming back.

Reflecting on the game AGAIN , I don't think it's that bad , Wanes tried the kids he wanted . He s had a look and like he said in his interview he s learned off today's game. So time to move on and play strongest team for rest of the season !

This thread is almost as comical as the one calling for Wanes head after the first game. Wane never seems to get credit from some yet the moment we lose the knives come out.

This is the second screw up by Wane this season, a team not ready for Huddersfield and this really is a mistake to rank right up there with the best.

Did he not think what the ex Wigan connection people would think this morning, OK leave a couple out which was known to be Pat and Tommy but then to leave out Sam and Lockers is really saying to Widnes "you are no good and we can take you anytime" how would anyone react if they were treated with such contempt and arrogance?

When you hear that Stefan Marsh is sounding like a world beater it really is time to be a bit concerned, so well done Widnes and we got what we deserved. As said already, blooding young players is OK but what will this have done to their confidence, getting beat up by a team who have not looked like winning and if I am correct lost their last 7 matches last year and their first 5 this season.

He could have left out 2 today and 2 next week against London but to leave out 4 of your very best and most experienced players was madness and now of course he will have to play all 4 next week if fit, whereas spelling them in a logical manner would be perhaps OK. It is also not fair on the fans who pay to see the best team possible not some experiment, he has already done this in practice matches and hasn't learnt any lessons.

Let us hope he doesn't mouth off again about I will make the players suffer in training etc, accept your mistakes and admit you made a massive one today and learn from it, if not accept the consequences as anybody in any occupation who made a mistake like this would have to do.

Not so sure Wane needs to go, but you do have at ask the question, why so early in the season do we need to rest players?
Most players are only just getting into full match fitness, we should have played full strength, rest players against Widnes at home.
Mistake today, but hopefully he will learn.
