FWIW it wasn't as bad as I expected today. Saints dominated field position with their pack as u would expect but we looked dangerous when we got some ball at the right end.

I think you are a force if you can get your first 17 on the paddock. If injuries bite again you will be an average team.

I agree the system is farcical, repeat offenders are not treated as such yet accidental incidents warrant a reprimand. Smithies tackle on Welsby at the DW is another prime example.

Utterly dominant from us last night. Taking our foot off the gas for the last 20 was disappointing though as we could’ve scored 50.

Welsby was outstanding. I love it how he gives it to the Wigan fans. For a Wigan lad and a Wigan fan as a kid he absolutely despises them now and it’s great to see. Same with Makinson in many ways. Not sure what that sex offender song from the Wigan fans was all about. They give him loads and he gives it back.

I’m really pleased that we seem to (in Wellens words) have simplified our game and gone back to basics. We must be the easiest team to coach with the intensity we play at and the structures we have. The last two weeks we have looked back to our best.

I’ve said before that Woolfs team didn’t need much tweaking yet Wellens seemed set on putting his own stamp on the team and it wasn’t working earlier in the season although to be fair we had injuries and suspensions then.
