I was disagreeing with a poster who said that an offence deemed as careless should be punished in the same way as one deemed intentional. If that was intentional it should be 10 matches, I don't think it was. If you read my previous posts you will see I thought it should have been a red and 2 - 3 game suspension.

great game and wigan where brill, but flower has to get a ban , imo if you lead with an elbow to someones face/jaw you are risking serious injury to that player a bit higher and it could have broken his jaw, no need for it, yes you need to challenge the kicker and let them know your there but that was bad, anyway well played wigan and again a great game

Well yeah, you're right, that's how the grading system works (or is supposed to...). Careless is grade A-B, reckless is C-D, intentional is D-F.

Will he then appeal the ban, and get let off for his impeccable disciplinary record.

No. Both coaches agree with you.

This. I can understand some of the outrage with how it looks and who did it but Flower isn't even looking at the lad, he's got an arm up to charge the ball and catches him badly on the way down. I can't argue with the red card and a possible 2-3 game ban because it was reckless, but I'm not seeing a deliberate attack.

bollox, Flower knew where his forearm was heading long before he looked away, and by "long" I mean fractions of a second.
Still, he didn't hurt nobody so what's the problem, I mean if O'loughlen can get away with what he did then Flower deserves an apology for the red really.
Does it seem like there's been more red cards for Wigan this season than usual....I dunno
