I take it you are a Lockers super fan , Lockers is nowhere near the player he was last season, Sculthorpe at Saints springs to mind

You don't get it do you? Lockers might not be as good as he was - but he's still better than anyone else we've got, and still good enough for Super League. So why the hell do you want him to retire?

He didn't play huge minutes but his effect on the team was clear for all to see. He seemed to make more yards than any other forward including the props. If it wasn't for Sarginson not passing to Burgess he would have also created a try from a lovely pass which is typical Sean O'Loughlin.
I agree we could do with another prop. I'm unsure of everyone who is off contract in the NRL but I think Sam Tagatese and Suaia Matagi both are and could be worth a shot. Matagi was impressive for Samoa in the Workd Cup.'"
Should have gone for Frank The Tank!

| I hope Wane shows them the game from last month to embarrass a performance out of our forwards this week. One of the most cowardly performances I've seen from a set of forwards for a very long time - letting Ashton Sims play Billy Big Balls was pitiful.
I also hope Williams points out the fact that not one forward did anything to Sims after his cowardly punch.
Forget Pie Smash, the only thing being smashed this week should be Sims.

We don't have it in us anymore (down to the Flower incident IMO).
Wire fans are worried they don't have much aggression in their pack but minus Micky Mac ours will simply roll over and get its belly tickled.

| Whilst our props may be poor, although I'd say Flower and Clubb are adequate, the pack has performed well. How else do you explain being second in the table? (Above the 'wonderful' Saints pack).
Wire have a good pack but no half backs. Even more fundamental than props. When they clicked they did for Leeds twice, just like us.
I'm expecting a win on Friday. Powell has done well recently. No worries about him at all.

Im not attacking your posts on purpose I promise
Agree with what you are saying but at the same time we are 2nd from a pool of teams that doesn't have much class to it. It's all relative I.e you can only play what's in front of you but what happened to wanting to be more than just the best in the league?
FWIW looking at it from a SL perspective I don't think we need a major overhaul to be the top side again. Leeds were in a similar position during our double season and they've made massive improvements since then with only a small number of changes/additions.
At the same time I can see why there's a lot of frustration out there. Some of the players might be good enough for SL but in the grand scheme of things they aren't that good. Wigan fans aren't fools they've seen truly great players and teams and they know this crop isn't a vintage one

| No problem. It'd be a strange old world if everyone agreed with me!
I often wonder just how much we have missed Sam. We were treated to some individual brilliance in practically every game he played for us, often winning games from nowhere. I think in a winning team based around Sam, Lockers, Bateman, Faz, Joel, MMc, Williams, Gelling and Josh that some of the more ordinary players start to look decent.
Leeds carried the likes of Bailey and Kirke for years after all. I would like to see a top class prop (wouldn't we all?) but I'm hoping that Sam will have us on the edge of our seats again. Great players are few and far between, but they make all the difference.

| Have to say, watching Sam in the NRL (even in the last couple of games where he's actually been pretty good), I do have some doubts. Sure, NRL defences are tougher, but I fear he has lost that half a yard of pace since he was in SL. And his virtual refusal to run kick returns back (inevitably handing the ball off to one of his wingers) doesn't bode well. If I was his coach,I'd want to know WTF he was doing there!
Now if he could stow one of those bright young Warriors forwards in his hand baggage, Charlie Gubb, say, or Sam Lisone...

Undoubtedly we've missed Sam. He's a once in a generation type player and there's only a few players in the game who'd have filled such a massive gap.
That being said I don't think he's going to complete our side in one swoop. We desperately need another prop as we just can't compete upfront.

| Tomkins is clearly playing under instruction in relation to his kick return plays. He has 2 man mountains on the flanks and is being used much more as a roaming half for the Warriors, getting in at the PTB, directing the team around the park then providing the link as the second receiver on both sides of the field.
I don't believe he will be used this way for us, at least I hope not.

To be fair he used to hand the ball to Charnley/Richards rather than return it when playing for us. I don't have a problem with it to be honest, the wingers are more likely to win the collision, find the floor and get a quick PTB. Let's give him the ball on our terms rather than have him getting munched by forwards chasing the kick

| Well, I hope you are both right about Sam! We shall see. I agree he's being used as an auxiliary half by the Warriors, and now with SJ out has to take more responsibility.
