Another question for you, which year was it when we got to the grand final and Adrian Lam was injured in the play offs, or was it the semi? I got this feeling that the same thing is going to happen but its Lockers who may play a part of getting us into the final but not play in it, and we will go down bravely to a Yorkshire side. The crystal ball goes mysty after that.

Lam missed 7 of the 10 matches unbeaten under Mike Gregory which led us to the 2003 Grand Final. Stand Off for all those games was Sean O'Loughlin with Luke Robinson replacing Lam in the 7 matches. The Grand Final was lost to Bradford.

We never had a proper Stand Off all that campaign after Julian O'Neill was released early. O'Loughlin and Nick Graham played six in spells with solo stand off appearances for Paul Johnson and a very young Kevin Brown.

Was a great season that one and the sacking of Stuart Raper was a total disgrace!

I remember shaking hands with Stuart and wishing him well..... He looked totally bemused by what was happening....

I was only fairly new to the game at the time but I couldn't really get my head around us sacking Endacott or Raper. They weren't really doing very bad jobs results wise

Didn't Raper supposedly announce he was leaving at the end of the season because Whelan was interfering in team matters? Mo and DW then said 'Okay, go now'? Granted, that response was hardly a ringing endorsement, but I'm pretty sure the impetus was from Raper.

I don't know, perhaps. I remember him announcing he was leaving at the end of the year but I never read anything mentioning those two. I always thought it was just a kneejerk reaction to Widnes beating us, and the knowledge that he was going to leave anyway. Mind you, Gregory did a great job getting us to the SL final that year, and the CC final the following year. A massive shame we never got to see how he would have panned out as a coach.

Sadly, If Huddersfield play at 80% or above of their potential, I can't see anything other than an embarrassing drubbing for us.
Our pack won't match the Giants work rate, and our half back pair are simply not good enough.

I know the loser technically gets another go, but tonight is knock out football. There is no such thing as form in the playoffs (we should know that having been on the end of several weird results)

1999 we lost to 5th placed Cas who went all the way to the final 3
2000 we hammered Saints one week only to be hammered the next
2003 we went from 3rd to the final
2005 Bradford WON it from 3rd whilst Saints came top and didn't make the final
2009 Catalans got to the final 3 from 8th
2012/2013 Leeds won it from 5th having called for their coaches head all season

Do I need to remind people about Bradford 2007?
