There must be some sort of substance in these rumours, whether or not he moves to Salford/Widnes remains to be seen (bit of a downgrade from Paramatta isn't it?).

I am starting to believe that his time with us is limited. Dependant on the reason, it'll be a massive massive loss to Wigan. I am already damn well annoyed at SW's leadership, recruitment and teams he chooses to put out for pre-season friendlies and rumours of a bust up with Hock puts fuel to the fire.

On his day he is one of the best, if not the best, SR in SL. Losing Hock and replacing him with someone like Gelling is for me completely and utterly inexcusable. I am VERY interested to see what the future holds.

Having seen SW's interviews about how Wigan need to move forward in creating a "community" of local lads who will not want to f-off a la Ashton/Tomkins I find it highly amusing that a Wigan lad who's been at the club for nearly 20 years is seemingly desperate to get away. If all this bull reporting has any grounds.

The only proven ways to stop bleeding this level of talent is to either:
- Give them medals every season (Leeds)
- Play e rugby so no-one really wants them (Leeds)

However my suggestions going forward are:
- Sign only convicted fellons who would not be welcome in Australia
- Threaten the squad/ their family members (may improve performance)
- Lobotomise players upon signing (may reduce McIllorum penalties)

Notice that "barbecues and stuff fot lads" is not on there.

Far be it from me to credit anything Martyn Sadler reports, but the last part of that is that is the most relevant and informed comment made on this thread thus far.

Losing Hock would be nothing short of a disaster imo.

There's nothing to communicate? He hasn't signed for anyone. Wigan have gone on record to say that they don't respond to rumours and speculation. If a deal is done, it will be announced in due course. I don't understand why people feel they are owed a complete in and out of the clubs daily dealings, when it has nothing to do with them.

Even if we lose him we'll overcome it. For what we lose in his undoubted brilliance, we gain in ditching a penalty machine that, if the rumours are true, has a poor attitude. Don't want people like that at the club. If he can't act like proffessional then we don't need him.

SW's "No comment" when questioned about it speaks volumes for me.

If he can't act professionally at a club with the history, culture and ethos we have at Wigan then God help him at somewhere like Widnes or Salford.

Widnes and Salford are short of quality players.
Gaz Hock is very much a quality player.

I was amazed that Hock is a tempting 10/1 to be in the Dream Team in 2013 and was initially thinking of slapping some money on. On second thoughts the bookies aren't daft and must know there's something going on.
