Actually, it was a very objective comment. A lot of people supporters, it seems have never made a mistake. I was one of the first to comment in our local that Hock should get a ban, he made a mistake, it happens. It seems though that, as usual, a lot of comments throw things out of proportion, calling the guy a fruit cake for example is tremendously offencive to those dealing with mental illness, calling him a smackhead way over does the narcotics actually found in his urine (cocaine). Brand identity seems to be the in thing in this sport at the moment... Newton, Hock, Gleeson, all branded as smack heads, though none of them ever took heroin. Interesting....

But if you read most Wigan fans view on the gauging, they think Hock should have had the book thrown at him.
I agree with what some have said. I think they've given him just enough so that he misses the GF, if we get there.

| I've only just been able to watch the sam 'kicking' incident and the hock 'gouging' one. Have to say I was expecting both to have been far far worse going by the reaction on these boards. Hock was stupid and hot headed and left the rfl with no option b ut to ban him for the minimum.

Correct. Biggest over reaction in the history of the game.

| Give Hock some support not negative feedback come on. The Wigan hate mob make me sick. The lad needs support of true Wigan people with a passion for this game not a hate mob watching him like hes on big brother. Get behind Gaz i think he needs support at this moment in time, Next season he will probly be a local hero again??? Back stabbing 2 faced parasites comes to mind,

| Support? I support any Wigan player, but I can't and won't support his actions against wire.
When he's onsong and not doing stupid things he's great to watch, but equally when he is being stupid it's painful. He could be a great RL player if only he kept his temper in check.

| "The Wigan hate mob make me sick"
Got it in one, the constant bleatings of the Rugby aristocracy are a joke, do what the rest of super league does, get the blinkers one and let silence descend. Very nice to be impartial, BUT, only when everyone else is impartial, there's nowt clever about attacking your own team publicly and it does seem a trait that happens a lot with Wigan fans giving more and more ammunition to the Wigan haters.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

True enough. "Biggest over-reaction in the history of the game" has some stiff competition. If there's one thing RL fans do exceptionally well, it's have massive, OTT, knee-jerk reactions to things. Believe it or not, these knee-jerk reactions were not invented for Sam Tomkins and Gareth Hock.

A massive over reaction would need more than two people otherwise it's hardly massive.

You and the pieman have obviously NEVER PARTICIPATED in the game - apart from bleating about EVERY decision against you(I do not know how you have ever won a game under the circumstances! ), complaining and crying for a penalty, against every other team that tries to emulate your own, and the most annoying one - bad sportsmanship.
Gareth Hock made a greater error in gouging another player , than any other offence - the player was tackled already, and had his arms held in the tackle, therefore could not defend himself. He would have reacted like any other person(except an idiot that thinks its ok to lose their sight), by trying to protect himself somehow - and/or getting the attention of others in respect of what was happening to him?? If you are prone - you may also shout something to the d*** h*** - but Hock doesn't like that either - so thought he'd try to shut the player up by, putting his fist into his face!!
I think you ought to have a look at the rules of SPORT and read the laws of the game
Sam Tomkins is a very good player - the incident mentioned was probably a natural reaction in trying to stop a try and, was not meant to harm anyone.
All, of course, in my honest opinion
