| no i didn't watch that game. so thats why but just saying well done to them as after that drop goal a lot of fans would of left while they stayed today. and byt the way we beat harlequins 82-6 how much did you win by ? not that much we must be better than you surely! doesn't work like that m8 and you know it.
salford was a slip up and today was close match and they pushed us a lot harder than you did at the DW so does that also make saints a better team than you? come the end of the season we can see who is the most consistent team in the hubcap and then we have the pleasure of the play-offs were i can see any one of five teams winning. (wire, wigan, hudds, saints and leeds if they get form).

Exiles match played its part and Saints will ALWAYS give us a game. I don't think Wires are tiring yet...HKR last week?

I don't count the Salford game, not because we lost just because it was a disruptive week beforehand.
Last week against KR i thought we'd struggle, we battered and out enthused them everywhere, no i don't think we're tired my thoughts are simply
a) even though we beat them earlier in the season i still think we have a little mental lock against Saints still in there
b) Saints were massively up for this game and their intensity levels were completely different to last week
c) For me that was Saints best performance this year and they still lost.
d) at 18-0 we thought we had it in the bag, we got cocky and paid the price for it.

No. We were terrible last week. We were better this week. We had the right attitude. But we are suffering for the inexperience in our team. We have a tendency to panic when the game becomes a challenge and this results in dropped ball, poor decisions and playing one up. We don't have Keiron on the pitch to steady the ship when things go a bit awry. We lose our composure. But that will get better as our young guys gain more experience.
Defence from both teams was poor.
I wasn't expecting to win. But we didn't embarrass ourselves, thank goodness!
Horatio Yed - our best performance was at the DW. What you saw tonight was simply more aggression than last week and fewer unforced errors than last week.

| If you have a title with WIRE in it expect WIRE fans to comment in it

HKR haven't won away all season, we put 40 on them, so its not really hard.

I don't think that was their best performance. Their best 80 was probably Good Friday like SaintsFan said.
I'm probably just confusing tiring with cocky, either way, neither of those is a good attribute to have on round 19. You can and will most likely slip up again this year though, so you best hope Wire drop the cocky attitude

| Quote: Phil-P "Probably a large proportion of the morons who support them. It's going to be down to you lot this year to save British Rugby League from that lot winning the double. Obviously I don't want you lot to win anything however your far and away the lesser of two evils.
Overall tonight was a good example of everything that is bad about Super League and rugby league in the U.K in general - inconsistent refereeing, high shots galore, ridiculously quick releases from the tackle, an incorrect video refereeing call, eddie and stevo creaming themselves over an error strewn match and two average sides making basic errors.'"
Excellent summary, Phil. Except obviously that Wigan are good, not a lesser evil!

You're right. Of course it was an obstruction. And I was livid!

| Quote: lothlorian "tonights game wasnt nearly as good as people are making out. defensively both teams were poor and as wigan fans we would be disappointed if we defended like either team tonight. The game was marketed well throughout and made to sound a better game than it actually was. a little but disappointed to be honest. Saints were terrible and made wire look alot better than they actually were tonight. poor from both teams, and just because both teams cannot defend and let in plenty of points doesnt make it a great specticle.'"
It was a good game from an entertainment perspective but not from a quality perspective (apart from the handling, which was pretty good in the rain). As you say the defence was poor.
It was a good game for Wigan because all the Wigan fans who have been in doom and gloom this season about whether we can beat Wire (which always seemed bizarre to me) now have seen the evidence that this Wolfs side is nothing special. In that sense it was a very good game indeed!

It wasn't obstruction. Meli actually went to tackle Bridge who was the dummy runner.

| I was thinking that it was pretty poor defensively, 1st half, 2nd half much better. DW was our best performance (bizzarly) but last night we were better than we were against wigan, simple completion stats will confirm that.
We are rebuilding though, so I'm not overly disappointed.
Player wise we need a prop (Clough)
FB (sad to say as wellens is a legend but Lance on route)
More experience in the half backs( takes time that's all, mistakes will happen, if you want to develop a half back rather than buy in you have to expect errors, just a pitty we are developing both half backs in the same games in the same year. ) (Ideally Gaskell would have been a year or 2 in the making behind Lomax)
Game wise we need that intensity for the full 80, not letting teams have 16, 18 , 20 point leads. We also need that intensity week in week out even if playing a poorer team. Warrington have belted lower teams we have not been at that pace week in and week out.
And that is why we lost. IMHO.

Award for most bitter one eyed pie fan goes to Deano G
Haha what turd you talk'"
Another intelligent contribution from a Dire fan.
I'm not bitter, actually I'm very happy this morning, looking forward to the Big One and while I'm nervous about predicting a Wigan win (Hudds are a very powerful side and would have beaten Saints and Wire based on last night's evidence) I will make two predictions - we'll see some very strong and well organised defence from both sides today and there will be a properly big crowd. (Anyone else laugh when Eddie referred last night to the "massive crowd"?)
If we can win today - a big, big test - then we will deservedly be favourites for the SL title and indeed the cup. We will be running into form as the season reaches a crucial phase. Hock's back, Fielden will be back shortly, this is an exciting time to be a fan of the game's greatest club.
So not bitter at all. My team are champions and we have every chance of retaining the SL title and bringing the CC back home. Wigan fans have been dreaming of this for a decade (and fans of other clubs fearing it for a decade). We are back. I'm very happy!
Bring it on Hudds!

If it wasn't obstruction then it won't be long before we have offensive linemen in RL.

roby and monaghan arent arguably the best hookers in the comp, they ARE the best two hookers.
