| If Huddersfield dont bring anymore then 1000, then its really disappointing. We seem to be able pull out 3000 to 4000 more fans for these Big One games, but it is also important for away fans to bring a healthy support.
Discounted tickets at a stadium with the best facilities is too good to turn down when you look at other grounds in SL. I think next year we will be looking at targeting one of the Hull home games for the Big One 4.

I don't know about targetting the Hull teams, we chose Leeds, Wire and now Hudds who were/are top three teams, the big one against a Hull team just wouldn't be "big" I don't think, regardless of what it is billed as, tomorrow is a game between two teams very much in the title race.

| its got to be leeds, make it a war of the roses type of thing, even go as far as having a little cup for who ever wins it,
we can sell it out, and they are the best supported team in yorkshire.

I'd go with Leeds again, but would it be worth it? We'll see from the home game against them this year, but with the boo'ing saga and bad blood from recent big games, tickets for Leeds at home should sell well already IMO. That being said, I dont know who else would be better suited.

I'm going to be controversial here and say......
.....Widnes?
Next season surely there will be a 15k+ attendance anyway, with a good few thousand away fans in the North Stand.
How about we promote the game as the 'Big One 4' along with the history between the two clubs, give out discounted tickets per stand and let's see if we can break 20k.
Would be great if we could.

In addition, invite legends from both clubs onto the field.......Davies, Mylers, Lydon, Gregory, Offiah...etc.
Wasn't that long back we'd attract 30,000 against these men!!

The return of the Vikings, I like it. You would expect a healthy number from Widnes and it's a game that wouldn't be the biggest draw for home fans, so plenty of scope to attract more by advertising it heavily. Another big loc derby would be great, what better way of encouraging that than bigging it up as the big one 4?

If Hull FC get rid of Agar then they will be a far better team and would be challenging with the top 5 clubs IMO.
Widnes is a good shout though as somebody else mentioned! And for away support I dont think they would do as badly as Huddersfield.

I agree with that, but for now they don't come across as a "big" game for any reason. It'd be good to see what they could do with a good, up and coming coach, just not sure where they'd find one!
Am I right in thinking that the overall aim of the big one is to increase home support rather than necessarily attracting huge numbers of away fans or a massive overall attendance? If so, it's about making the game more attractive to the home fans, whether it be reinstating an old local rivalry, or a game against the best Yorkshire have to offer, or next year revenge against Catalans - can we slay the dragons? I guess you can twist most games to make them more appealing, maybe this is something we could look to do for every game (obviously not on as big a scale as the big one)? Or maybe we already do and not living in Wigan I don't notice

| Widnes is a great shout.
"Return of the old enemy"
And like you said matt, get some old names on the pitch before the game..the build up and be all about the great rivalry we had with each other in the 80's early 90's

Leeds have the best home support. But I reckon Hull KR have bought more away than Leeds to the DW in recent years. Anyone have away support stats? (Also take TV into account.)

I'm sure the Widnes club would be well up for this as well. First season back in the big time, a game to raise their profile local derby live on SKY in front of 20,000 supporters. How good could the Granada advert be for this? Old footage showing the big clashes between the two teams would be cracking!
