Never thought I would see a thread on here with Wigan fans bickering with each other over how good Wire are.

In the 20 or so years i've been watching wire i have never seen us play as well and as competently. On current form we have a great chance of winning major
silver and to be honest i wouldn't begrudge any wire fan from getting carried away/optimistic about our chances as we have never been in this position in
terms of performance as far back as i can remember. Have to say that this thread hasn't been a dick measuring contest in my opinion but an interesting
debate containing knowledgeable points of view. I'm not a fan of stuart fielden but it will be interesting to see how Hock returns as i really rated him
before he got band.

Which 'band' has he joined and will it affect the way he plays?

I dont understand all this "Wire are red hot & on current form have a great chance of winning it etc". They have won 5 in a row while we have won 8. That puts us in better form does it not?

Wire will be challenging but i just dont understand what all the flapping is about

the reason for all the optimism from wire fans is that we are better than the team that god created himself apparantly as we have already shown you once this season.and you have to go through the wringer twice more yet,bless!

You showed it once last season as well, but once wasn't enough. As the intensity continued to rise, your team increasingly couldn't handle it. Don't be too overconfident. That comes before a big fall.

As does being second on points difference alone with a game in hand against a team we should, by all accounts, beat, but I've learned it's like banging your head against a brick wall mate. Wire are going to win SLXVI as far as everyone is concerned. They beat Swinton Lions 112-0 after all.
