| Quote: 21-12 "I would probably say, if people would like to get "involved" so to speak that attending a meeting may be pointless now as we have a full gantry and dont really need flag ideas, designs etc, your probably better off looking for the noisy section at an away game, introducing yourself and grabbing a flag/banner. Its moved on to what the real "Brigante" scene is all about now, and thats a large group, mainly at away games (home games lads are sat in diferent stands) making an atmosphere using the big wavers, new songs and being noisy. Most of these people that are now involved away from home, I dont think even post on here. Its more than just making flags and waving them at home games, this "Brigante" is to have a large group following that stand together, wave flags, banners etc you have to back it up with an atmosphere and a following, which now seems to have developed away from home and is attracting more people every week, I know Chris has had messages from various football clubs and fans praising our away support and displays.'"
Edited again!
As for being "Pointless" in attending the meetings I would suggest people who attend the meetings would be in a better place to judge if their pointless or not?
Many more ideas for flags for the West Stand being developed and more importantly other "Ideas" in the frame to enhance both Home & Away atmosphere.

| I never said the meetings were pointless, I meant people getting involved might be better just coming to away games and grabbing a flag, the more the merrier. It might be a bit confusing going to a meeting and seeing all these faces, then getting involved in the atmosphere away from home and realising it's a conplete different bunch of people. I'd like to hear the new ideas and will be attending the next meeting. The thing that has disappointed me is that at meetings in the past we seem to get all these people "up for it" and then matchday comes and as per the hull game, we have jukesays and Conroy putting up the gantry flags as always, then myself and jimmybirts/warrior Lou with the wavers, everybody else seems to dissapear when it comes to actually putting on a display. The world club challenge was great, but this wasn't a "one game idea" as I said, same away from home, don't tend to see people getting involved in the atmosphere and holding of banners/flags, it seems to be a complete different group non of which actually post on here I don't think apart from 18th man.

| The problem i have sometimes is that I cannot get to a good number of away games (especially on Sunday afternoon's, or Friday night's at Hull), and when I do such as Wrexham last week I end up with tickets in the wrong stand.

You said "I would probably say personally, if people would like to get "involved" so to speak that attending a meeting may be pointless now as we have a full gantry and dont really need flag ideas, designs etc, your probably better off looking for the noisy section at an away game, introducing yourself and grabbing a flag/banner" and to me that means your sending out the message that going to the meetings was pointless and the only thing left to do now was grab a Banner and Wave? Whilst agreeing that getting people together to do this is important it's not by a long way the Only thing that needs doing.
There are a dozen other things being discussed and ideas muted, some about new flags others about displays (Card Displays etc) and other things such as Logistics of getting flags to games and volunteers to do them etc (Which I think we'll all agree you can't have too many of?).
I've not even scratched the surface with regards to the "organisation" of all of this which (And I know you know what I'm inferring here) needs to be discussed at the earliest and if not adressed will lead to problems further down the line for all of us?
Maybe it's those that think it is just about coming along, waving a flag (Or Blowing a Whistle etc) who need to be educated in how much work, organisation etc goes on behind the scenes?
End of the day Paul I understand that all the names mentioned do gave their time and effort and it is very much appreciated, How did they get involved? They got involved through the meetings and they understand the workings of it all behind the scenes. Something which the "Away" following need to be preaching at all times and Self Policing? Not just encouraging anyone to grab a flag and do what they want without understanding the ramifications?

| If you want to get involved creating some atmosphere on the terrace come and find us at a game. If you want to volunteer your services/discuss ideas, go to the meetings. Simple.

I still don't know what the Warrior song is and I still don't understand your comment about reputation?'"
He means that gay 80's song by Scandal.

| Best be careful not to over react though about a whistle when ultimately the away support at Wrexham was spot on. A great day out. I don't see why some of us are being called to police such things either. I don't have responsibility for anyone else at games. There was no threat of violence, no obscene chanting, no fighting amongst each other, no falling over one another drunk. It was fun. A couple of blirts on a whistle and there's talk of bans and fans shopping fans to the club.
What happened at Hull KR was out of order I suppose but I'll tell you now that Hull KR's major issue was not about the 'Ultras' following but another issue that's become something of a tradition for Wigan fans at that venue. I'm not going on about that as I couldn't give a toss about it. Good luck to those who maintain that tradition.
This Brigantes Ultras thing does not own Wigan's away support or have any responsibility for it so I don't see why things like the whistle are an issue for us. It was dealt with quite effectively on the day. Problem solved.
We're learning which clubs will allow what now so I don't see how we're going to run into any problems in future.
Incidentally, no flags were 'smuggled in' at Hull KR. We walked upto the turnstyles holding them in clear view and the stewards said nowt. And nothing was confiscated at Leeds. No flags went that day.
