Our lads will do their talking on the pitch. It seems that your lot will whine to anyone who will listen.'" Because it seems they cant be trusted to do their talking using actual words! If they could why not just do it? Why have Wigan players attended other press conferences but not this one?

what actually offended you about what McClennan said this week? Or Sinfield?

Why not email Wigan and ask them?
Genuine suggestion, because all you're doing at present is coming out with the same piece of claptrap over and over, as if you feel you're onto some kind of winner - when in reality people recognise it as the most desperate and pathetic ploy we've seen yet to try and make Wigan into the villains of the piece.
Just face the fact, Wigan aren't going to publically respond to the self-pitying statements made by the Leeds camp. Now that may irritate the hell out of you, but that's just the way it is. You'll have to deal with it.
PS: If you want my take, they may feel that responding to such rubbish will just generate more rubbish, and the whole thing will quickly become pointless bickering - kind of like this thread, which you've successfully managed to derail (and more fool me, I suppose, for falling for such idiot shyyte).

| Quote: SmokeyTA "who is asking them for a public apology?
All i said was that the fact they hadnt trusted the players to attend the press conference as they normally would so it has affected them. We will see on saturday how much'"
Where anywhere does it say officially that Wigan hadn't allowed their players or trusted their players to attend the press conference?
I saw the YEP report on one of the earlier threads where the YEP reporter basically made out that Wigan were lucky to be allowed to stay in the Play offs whilst Leeds had done nothing wrong in the previous game totally ignoring the Buderus Spear Tackle, Ban and subsequent appeal as though it didn't happen!
So what this guy has to say does not alter my opinion (Based on what I know for a fact!) one bit!
Lets just say for 1 minute that Wigan/Maguire thought that it would benefit the club/team more to concentrate on Training/preparing for today's game rather than attend a press conference, Would that be so Mind boggling?
Because that's what's happened, nothing more, nothing less!
They did the same with Richards & Tomkins on Monday over the Albert Goldthorpe Medal, they allowed them to go to the presentation but not the press conference earlier in the day to announce it, they ere training etc.
As Cruncher says
You can read into it what you will, when it comes to Wigan other fans usually do!
Buth trying to divert the Leeds clubs pathetic Whinging this week and trying to blame Wigan doesn't wash with anyone on here!

Actions speak louder than words. I am very confident that our lads will have strong opinions on the past two week’s events. I would imagine that MM has closed ranks and kept the lads away from the press. It makes sense totally, Wigan now have a great understanding of the current state of mind within the Rhinos camp, whereas you lot have not got a clue about what we are talking about.
I am also very confident that they will use it in the best way possible, by ripping right into your lot on Saturday. I aint saying we will win (it is too close a game to call). We have been brutal this year and I fully expect us to turn it up a notch or two on game day.

TBH nothing offended me personally, but the insinuations that a Wigan player had injured a player after the tackle were below the belt.
The man is embarrassing your once proud club, the only surprise is that Hetherington has not yet chipped in, although I am sure he will have made his feelings clear to his bum chums at Red Hall

How does sitting around fielding pointless questions and crying like a spoilt brat help a players preparation?
Surely it makes more sense to go over tactics and the game plan for Saturday night. Failing that, some relaxation or light cardio or passing drills?
Considering that only a few senior/key players speak to the press before a game anyway; I don't see how not being allowed to talk to some journalists who will be desperate to stir up some nonsense is going to have a negative affect on their preperation?
Perhaps Maguire thinks that the leeds camp is talking enough for both teams?

The whole Deacon thing is highly ironic IMO. When we announced his signature all you got on here was negative comments, he won't be able to get a game, etc. Now he's nigh on irreplaceable. Just goes to show how bad a signing Roberts is turning out to be. Anyone can get injured but his loss of confidence issue/myth is a joke IMO. Surely he's fit, isn't he? Playing in the reserve grade and called into last weeks 19? Why can't he force his way back in?
All in all, a massive disappoinment, especially after giving us glimpses of what might have been.

I think Roberts was signed on the basis of those glimpses, so I don't agree that he was a shocking signing. He suffered a severe injury after all. But I do agree that it seems to be taking him an inordinately long time to recover, and this doesn't speak well for his psychological state. At least Maguire is the sort of coach who will drop players like this until they get their act together.
As for Deacon - who'd have thought he'd become so valuable to us. His excellent kicking game is definitely something we've been lacking.
