Then Langley?
I'd take Langley everytime tbh. He's big, strong and has a great engine and looks just about ready for the step up to fulltime prop forward to me.
I'm a fan of LMS but he'd need alot more work then Langley would and would be more of a gamble imo.

| Quote: jonh "To allow Fielden to go would be madness assuming we could agree a reasonable deal. I really enjoy watching Feka but if Lima was to be recruited it would be at his expense.
Pryce and Phelps can also go for me now. Roberts need to play 1 for me.
Bailey had a good game today but is running on aged legs. I assume Carmont will be with us in 2011.
I fell we need now a Prop, wing and centre at the expense of Feka, Bailey, Phelps and Pryce.'"
I know people point to Fielden’s work rate but for me i'd be happy to replace some of that with a better go forward player like Lima. Thats not to say Fielden doesn’t do ok with the ball in hand but i'd like a prop who does more.
I prefer my props to make a lot more yards than they do tackles and as long as they are defensively sound and can put in a good stint it's fine by me.
Take for example James Graham, now I know he's the bench mark for all the props in SL but he's not as good defensively as Fielden is but his go forward is such that combined with a good defence he’s a top draw player.
Phelps has to be kept hold of. Before his injury he was the best 1 at the club and his improvement since he first signed is nothing short of staggering. The fact we’ve still not played him in his first position means that he’s got a lot more to come. I can’t see the benefit of letting him go. The quota maybe coming down all the time but also the chances of signing top draw Aussies are as well. Phelps has to stay.
Feka offers something that no other player in SL can. He’s worked hard this off season and done what’s asked of him and his performances of late have been vintage Feka only with better defence as well. Any team that he signs for he will improve and I’d hate to see his talents go to another club.
I’d personally see Lima as a starting prop like Fielden and not an impact player like Feka.
I'm sure if we make Carmont available another team would offer him a 2 year deal probably on more money than he's on at Wigan. A team like Wakey or Cas would kill for a professional, skill full and experienced player like that on their books.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

Fully agree, Lima is a lot more similar to Feka (with the additional attributes specified) than he is to Fielden.
Just a curious point, Graham is making marginally less metres per carry than Fielden this season, but sees far far far more carries.

Lima is far more of a starting prop than Feka.
Not very many people can compare to Feka in what he’s does. Fui Fui Moi Moi is probably the closest but even then i wouldn’t swap him for Feka. I know that will shock some but I really think Feka is a seriously underused player at Wigan.
Lima would be more than capable of being a starting prop, something which Feka struggles with, and if he’s gonna replace anyone then it should be one of our starting props in Coley or Fielden.
It certainly shouldn’t be Coley who is a better player to Fielden and has been for the past 1 and a half seasons, is currently in better form, is on less money and fills a crucial leadership role in the side as well. If we lose Coley we lose a massive hole in our side.
Sadly although Fielden is having a mini revival in form he’s the one I’d get rid of if I was looking at replacing a prop in our squad.

| Next season I'd like to see:
1. Roberts
2. Goulding
3. Gleeson
4. Phelps (he'd need a game or two there during the season but for me he's a stand off/centre)
5. Richards
6. Sam
7. Leuluai
8. SIGNING (Someone who makes big metres and doesn't take any shiz)
9. Riddell
10. Coley (he's got a year in him yet)
11. Hansen
12. Joel
13. O'Loughlin
14. Fielden (if we can get him on the right contract, if not keep Feka for a year and see what we can make of him)
15. McIllorum
16. O'Carroll
17. Mossop
18. Fans
19. Farrell
20. Prescott
21. Ainscough

We just have different views on the game and what we'd like for a team that's all, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I still personally favour when playing with a 4 prop rotation, having 4 who can be interchanged and not lose out in any of the areas, i.e. a fresh pair of legs rather than a 'something different', at least when taken as a 2+2 setup. If I have a 60 minute+ prop, or play with a 3rd one on the bench then i'm more inclined to fit in a Feka.
Just different styles thats all.

| What's Neil Holland like? I've just noticed he's our only over-aged player who hasn't had a game for the first team, and I've heard more about Davies than him. Do people think he will make it eventually?

I dunno tbh, Rogues?
Davies is looking quality though.

| Quote: AJ "Phelps offers great coverage in many positions, and for me, still is a valid option for fullback. Pryce, I think, will be released.'"
I don't think we should re-sign Phelps. Amos Roberts is the best fullback in the side and is more suited at fullback than he is on the wing. Phelps simply isn't as good as him. He isn't good enough on the wing or at centre and wont take six from Sam.
We have enough cover with the young lads - Stefan Marsh and Karl Pryce both picked ahead of him - and so we don't need to use up a quota spot for a utility player.
A nice lad, always gives his best and has a smile on his face, but that isn't a good enough reason to keep hold of him.
