Good God, surely you're not that slow, are you?! Do you really need it pointing out that you were 'offended' by the scum comments and felt an obligation to 'complain' (on this very board, no less!). I don't listen to the bloke, generally he thinks he knows everything and likes to disagree with his callers no matter what, but that is not the same as if Phil Clarke said something.

This is my issue with this whole thing. Feel offended, it is nobody's place to have a say in this, indeed you don;t even have a say, it is either offensive to you or it isn't you can't choose to be offended. What people can choose then is to be unreasonable and make incorrect statements, which IMO weakens any argument.

Just a quick look at his Wiki page shows that he is an opinionated idiot, having previously been banned for being abusive to a caller (quite a lot of them IMHO), and also having to issue an apology after making a joke about the death of Alan Ball.

The fact is that plenty of things are broadcast the people find offensive, and an apology will not always be issued. If that was the case certain comedians would never see the light of day, and BBC would be full of family shows - although interestingly Frankie Boyle is in the firing line as we speak!

A few years ago on the Sunday after Shaun Edwards and Paul Johnson's brothers were killed in a car crash, I complained to the BBC regarding Jack Dearden's insensitivity throughout the programme - delighting in a Wigan loss and a Saints win. He kept saying "How good can this week get?" !!! (Tell that to those grieving families)

To his credit he did reply himself but tried to claim it was a previous weekend. However , complaining can make them re-think (though maybe not in Beswick's case because I think his arrogance gets in the way! ) .....and it makes you feel better!

I stopped listening to Beswick years ago. He is always swearing and thinks he is wittier than he is .....don't know what his listening figures are but I think Radio Manchester sees him as their very own shock jock! Ha!
