Nobby was dead keen to get all of the above involved wasn't he? injuries / drug bans played no part in it whatsoever. I was embarrassed early in the season when we had no british backs but if thats what floats your boat we'll replace Sam with another aussie. Dave is spot on.'"
Sam made more starts and played more games than Tim Smith even before he went home, leaving Tim Smith to flutter away in the reserves. Care to explain that one?

| The ONLY way I can see to justify his decision would be that maybe he thinks Sam is a stand-off and Mcguire is better in that position and he was going to play Myler scrum-half regardless.
Maybe he thought although Tomkins played well against Wales everything he did was off the cuff rather than a planned move. Perhaps he thinks a Myler McGuire combination willl give the team more structure. The team did look a little disorganised and clueless in attack against Wales.
I don't necessarily agree with the above, just trying to get into T Smith's brain to try and figure out what the hell he's thinking!

Well we have no chance of pulling off a planned move against the aussies anyway, in games against them we must play the situation.

| Quote: Rogues Gallery "Which other clubs have promoted so many in the last few years?'" So we judge our standards based on everyone else then do we? Which other british clubs have played with a full set of backs from outside the UK? How many other clubs come from an area with such a name in rugby and ready supply of youth talent? My argument is not that we should have a Wiganer in every position at all but to say Nobby was eager to get the young players in the first time is nonsense. Everyone knows that certain players have to do far more wrong to get dropped than others which might explain our poor finish in the league perhaps? And by the fact that Nobby is now not at Wigan anymore perhaps IL agrees.

Your talking utter garbage, we have as many youngsters coming through in the first team squad as any other team, you say Noble only played youngsters because of drug bans?? ok then that gave Mossop a chance, and obviously Sam got his chance because Smith left, so how do you explain O Carroll, Prescott, Ainscough and McIlorum all been given a chance then?? We have a very bright future with our young talent, stop whinging about it!!!!

Correct, of course we could go back to the Millward days if the poster wants and burn them out to early and completely ruin them! Noble has brought the youngsters through correctly and I'm sure Maguire and Wane will be greatful for having so many to work with and further develop them just like Noble developed the ones Millward almoast ruined.

We will all be thanking Noble in a few years time for what he did actually achieve at Wigan, he's brought certain youngsters on leaps and bounds and left the club with a real platform to work on and a well balanced squad. There's no doubt it was time for a change coaching wise, but Noble has left this club in a ten times better state than when he first came.

If you'd quoted the right bit you'd note I said injuries/drug bans.
Daddy's gone to Wales now Nobby lovers.. You all seem a bit obsessed never mind calling DaveO. Will be interesting to see what will happen if we play some amazing rugby next year and don't lose to teams like Celtic and Hull FC and maybe even win a trophy... You may say you're pleased with the new coach but you'll NEVER admit IL was right not to extend Nobby's contract. Meanwhile I'll be able to travel from Hull to Wigan for home games with a pretty good chance that I'll be seeing the best Wigan team available on any given day.
btw is the rogue club free to join? Must be a glowing endorsement of mediocrity.
PS I'm bored of this subject but given your reaction to a perfectly normal post by DaveO I assumed you were too. Obviously I was wrong.

So you're agreeing that Wigan brought more young players through under Noble than any other team in that period?
If so, what's your point?

You've completely missed 21-12's point in his post. You have also missed that both of us are happy that Nobby has moved on but he has left us in good shape, much better than when he first arrived. Understand that flower?

| Don't know what all fuss is about!
I'd be over the moon if no saints players was picked at all.
I'd rather all our players get good rest and no risk of injury for start of 2010.

I hate that mentality with a passion.
I international RL should be more important.
