No you didn't, you stated an opinion. And I doubt you've seen enough of Tomkins, or even Myler, to have an informed opinion.

In which case you've hardly seen Sam play at all, or you're telling big porky pies. I suspect the latter, because for some reason - don't know what it could be (Wire?) - I don't believe you've seen much of Myler either.
Conversation ends - because that's all your silly bit of trolling was worth.

I've seen quite alot of Myler, Brother lives in Sale so attend the odd game, and Salford were very prominent on SKY's National league coverage last year, the games Tomkins has been on SKY this year must be 5 or 6, he's looked average, with the exception of the HKR when he was a cut above, just because somebody says something you don't agree with doesn't mean he is trolling...grow up.

You've got the old rod out and baited the hook there
Tomkins has played this season if fits and starts, coming off the bench in the majority of his games and missing out all together in others. He's done some superb things in the vast majority of his games but it's hard to say he's strung fantastic preformence after fantastic preformence together because he's not playing the full 80. He's doing his stuff in small flashes.
On the other hand Myler is getting 80 minutes under his belt every week and is 'THE' bg fish in a small pond at Salford, with a licence to try things and play his own game. He's been very good aswell and it is easier to judge him overall because he plays full games and lots of them.
Overall i wouldn't honestly say theres that much between them. Myler has been playing first team rugby 12months longer then Sam and maybe that shows at times but Sam is doing an unbelievable job for a guy in his debut season.
One thing he has over Myler without doubt is the fact that he can defend very well. That does seem a problem for Myler.

Surely as a Wire fan you saw him rip your team apart in the pre-season game at the HJ? Did he look avarage to you then too? Or are you just the usual part-time Wire fan who comes on here and spouts nonsense?

i can see his point as Myler is a good player but to compare his performances in a lower league against Sam's in SL is misguided to say the least

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

Myler is a good player no doubts about it but my god he's over hyped.
I remember Danny Orr ripping SL up when he was at Cas and beating Saints on his own one night or to a lesser extent Moran running the show for the Broncos.
Although it sounds weird it’s easier to stand out in a poor team than it is in good team. Everything flows through Myler and he does well with that amount of ball but if you gave Tomkins that much ball he’d be creating just as much if not more. Again same goes for playing for England put Tomkins in that situation and he has the ability and confidence to take them up to another level.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

You are probably right thay Myler has had more good games, afterall he is Salfords main man and has played pretty much every game. Tomkins has been dropped and played off the bench alot so I do agree there but only because Myler has had more chance to show what he is made of, it is silly to say one is better than the other IMO. To say that Tomkins has only had one good game is just stupid.

| Considering Myler has played alot more Minutes this season it seems Sams stats show up very well to his for this season.
rlhttp://www.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player.php?hs1
And bearing in mind in total (including CC) Tomkins has started 9 and been off the bench for 6.
Myler (correct me if Im wrong) has started all the games hes played in this season.

Those stats certainly show up the peceived defensive frailties of Myler in comparison to Sam. Good player though Myler. Needs to work on that aspect of his game if he is going to fulfill his potential.
