Its a tough one. I hate the bloke, people cannot say that he has not done anything towards Wigan over the years, he has. Various times he has made jestures to the Wigan fans.
The bloke has too much history playing against Wigan to become a Wigan player. On top of that Wigan would not want him anywhere near Gleeson.
He will never re-sign for Wigan, and if he did i personally would have a tough time supporting anything he does. And i think a large number of supporters would feel that way.

I've never seen Long make any jestures towards Wigan supporters apart from the odd wave and chuckle when we've thrown tons of abuse his way.
I hate Sean Long too, because he's a Wiganer who has been extremely successful whilst playing for our arch-rivals and has been a fantastic player for them. At the same time he's been one of their fans favourite, a character, cocky and a bit arrogant and I've hated everything he's done for them as it's all success with a player that Wigan haven't had.
Whether we should/shouldn't sign Sean Long should only be down to potential performance reasons only IMO.
But each to their own.

| a few years ago I may have considered swallowing my pride and accepting the signing of him cos he was a class player. Although still a decent player hes on the wrong side of 30 and not exactly playing well.
A simple answer to this for mine. NO.

Thats true. But he is currently overated, and I would not want him at Wigan.
If you want someone to direct us around the park just get Andy Greg to stand in the middle of the pitch and do it, Long would not do much more than that. I rate his career higher than any other half-back still playing in this country, but he is past his best days. We would be signing him off reputation and not his ability, people complain when people are picked for the national team on reputation so why should we settle for that at our club.

From what iv seen of him this year, he's still the country's best number 7, and if not, tell me who is? even without the pace he used to have, he's still the most creative, his kicking game is second to none and he takes his team around the park superbly. Exactly what we want.

When watching him in the cup game against Catalans he was pretty shocking and still got MOM, he is a player based on reputation of which I am the first to admit is a terrific one but whenever he does anything half decent he gets more credit for it because of his reputation. I personally would rather have Burrow than Long at 7 for England. For us I would have neither I would go all out to get Orford, Thurston or Lockyer.

Dont talk stupid. Anyone with any RL knowledge knows Long is still the best, followed by Dobson, Myler's played half a season in SL and showed glimpses that he's going to be a good number 7. Leuluai is a decent, dangerous 7, but organisation wise, and genuine natural talent he doesn't come close to Long.

Remind me who is top of Super League?? Myler has shown glimpses, but not enough for people to start saying "sign him", and would you really want to run with 2 very young half backs next season? Long is proven SL class, Why you are mentioning Dobson, I really dont know, what you makes you think he'd leave Hull KR? Long would be perfect for 2 years, everyone knows it, nobody wants to admit it. Form is tempory, class is permanent.
