imo, fielden is finished and he is draggin our team down with his inept, overpaid performaces
i agree though that getting rid is difficult

| Please lets regain some focus here.
Props are what we need and a 7 for a start. Please relax when it comes to the 3-quarter line, we could argue ours is the best in the league.
We need an old school coach who knows the game inside out, someone who saw the Wigan glory days and knows exactly what the club is all about. A coach that demands respect and will take no cr@p from players who fall short.
Someone who knows how rugby is met to be played.

| Said that a while ago, drop Fielden, play a young lad!! Ben Davies?? If he made a metre in each tackle it’s more that Fielden’s input!
When do Wigan youngsters get a chance at playing for the 1st team??
Ainscough -- Play your off in the Reserves, ready for SL and we sign Roberts…. Nice, had to wait for an injury!!
S. Tomkins -- Had to wait until the fans got on the coaches back to play him, as well as having to wait, until the coach realised we don’t have a quality 6.
Mossop -- I’d rather have him then Hansen any day!
But relating back to my Carmont comment, instead of Goulding, how about Ian Thornley? ? One for the future, give them the experience, whilst there’s no relegation.
Stick O’Loughlin in the Second Row and give Flanny ago!
Not saying make all these chances, but why can’t we just try these sort of ideas out? Whilst there’s no relegation..
But then again Wigan youngsters!! Play your off in the reserve’s and training, leave to another team, then get begged to come back, when you’ve lost you heart for the Wigan badge!! i.e. Briscoe, Robinson, Wild, Tickle

If Thornely is a s good as people say he'll still be a couple of years of being a fully fedged superleague player. He'll get his opportunities in pre season games, cup games and when players are injured in the next couple of seasons and then hopefully will be ready to take over from Carmont in the 2012 season when he'll still only be about 19 i believe.
Thats surely what the club should be aiming at instead of saying bin Carmont off and throw an unproven player in.

I would imagine that the clubs ideal target is Pryce to replace Carmont and then Thornley to replace Gleeson or move to the second row.

Well said!! Although I would sooner see Joel given a real run at 13 over Flanny.

So would I, I like Flanagan and I think he's a good player but there is simply too much and too good competition around him.

| Woooooooo!!! I told off for mentioning Gleeson to left wing and Carmont to right wing, something about Gleeson is right handed and Carmont left handed, so Thornley can't replace Gleeson, he's a left centre
Rugby League it's about taking risks!!
Playing unproven players works!! *cough -- S. Tomkins -- cough*
Leeds did it with Burrows (Unproven when he first started in such a key role) L. Smith (FullBack, Unproven) Gibson and R. Hall (both Unproven) doing the job tho.... We should do it
Let FIELDEN get battered in the Reserves for a week or two lol

Sam, Ainscough, Joel, Prescott, Mcilorum, O'Carroll all doing the job as you say….
Hock, Hansen & Lockers all have been doing the job for a while now….
Goulding, Mossop getting valuable game time/experience above what the reserves gives…..
Plenty of academy lads there giving it a dam good go in SL. All improving week in week out also but hey we don’t give it ago at Wigan do we??????
As a side note 2 Burrow didn’t just start in the senior team and then played week in week out from then he still had Dunneman(sp) in front of him to contend with and learn off.

I know they're getting on a little but they're still 2 of the best props in the world and they'd do a job for us for a couple of seasons. Both real leaders as well.

Petero would be fantastic for 2 years, we would get 1 year at most out of Price but he would still show most of our current props how to run a ball in. Luke Bailey is out of contract but not on the list and he would be a great signing. Justin Poore would be brilliant too but he's young and has a rep career ahead of him so its unlikely.
