He's certainly the better of the two and I like him as a player but I just feel the difference between what Micky Mac is offering compared to the two youngsters is huge and its in danger of hurting us in big games.
I'd rather play Burke from the bench and let Lockers take that 20-25 minute spell at hooker.

| I agree that it was good to scrawp a win. But I doubt Waney will be happy with our close-in defence. I thought we looked quite weak near the line.

The question then though is what happens when Green, Smith or McIlorum get injured in a big game. You either get Lockers at 6 (where he's proven himself poor time and time again) or Lockers at 9 with Logan/Powell backing up, so you ask them to come into a big game with little experience, without the usual momentum that McIlorum creates and against hard opposition in a high pressure game. Recipe for disaster, especially when they don't even have reserves games to play in the meantime.
I say it's better to keep playing them for now so they're as prepared as possible come the business end of the year, that's when it counts after all. Then if neither looks good have a look at who's available for next year. Personally I'd like to see Powell come off the bench at 7 and Smith go to 9, think that could really work well.

| Not an individual post..... just the fact that you haven't credited Hull at all for the way we defended, the fast paced attack and the fact that we scored 20 points past a very good Wigan side. ( the fact I'm saying this is a very big compliment to Wigan anyway haha). You're Team is the best team in the league but a little modesty and humbleness wouldn't go a-miss, you're starting to sound like Leeds fans!

Im sure there's plenty Wigan fans on other threads crediting Hull for there display last night. However, this is a Wigan forum, discussing Wigan's performance. Personally I think Hull are a top 4 side when Holdsworth comes back.

I actually posted on your board saying well done and was pleased you gave us a game unlike your neighbours. So have other fans. This is the Wigan forum to discuss things about Wigan.

| I thought we did well against 14 men . Tbh it was the best we have played all season which may have been the reason why you think you wasnt at your best last night (sometimes you can only be as good as the other team let you ) and hopefull with Gaz Ellis and Holdsworth back we can mount a challenge for Old Trafford .
Good luck for the rest of the season guys

| Walking back last night I was listening to countless Hull fans celebrating because they scored more than 6 and let in less than 80 as well as saying 'at least rovers have got Leeds this weekend, come on Leeds'.
I get the rivalry, I understand it feels good to be better than them, but when will Hull fans finally understand that the competition is not cross city, it's against all the other teams!
This is something I hear time and again, when something happens to one of the teams they justify it by pointing out something worse that the others went through.

Perhaps if you had to spend so much time in the company of family, neighbours or work colleagues who support the enemy you would understand.
They rightly had plenty to say after dominating us on Good Friday but your demolition of them on Easter Monday helped us get our own back.
They were forecasting a similar result for us so the fact we competed and only lost on kicks feels like a victory.
Get Ellis, Holdsworth and Tickle in our team and we look very competitive.
Anyway. Great game and good luck for the rest of the season. Not that you need it.

Being the only Wigan fan in my family, with everyone else supporting st helens I know exactly what it's like spending time with the enemy.
Neither myself, or the st supporters see success as finishing above the other! (although as a general rule if you finish above saints or Wigan you are going to be in the mix up for honours).
