Me too! Paaaaaat being in the team will make such a tremendous difference, both in attack and defence.
Got the feeling Finch might start to produce the goods as well........

| If you are going to continue players after they have a poor game then Charnley should still be in the team, how many games can we wait for Roberts to get some form?

| That's almost exactly the team I picked (except I had Farrell starting and Hansen on the bench)
Would be surprised if we didn't have a back on the bench.

It's not as simple as that. Roberts let Sam play where he should at 6. Also were Charnley to have another tough game it might not do his confidence much good so a few games in the U20's is no bad thing for him regardless of who gets in the team instead of him. If the coach wants to give Charnley a rest from 1st team action who you suggest instead of Roberts?

| I supoose that last bench spot depends on how much Pat trusts his fitness, or more importantly how much Madge trusts Pat's fitness. I'd be surprised if Carnley wasn't on there. Joel starting at centre gives us some flexibility in the forwards in case there's an injury there and Charnley can replace Pat should he start to flag or feel his achilles playing up

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

Sam needs to go back in the halves for two reasons - one: he is now no longer effective at FB as last season as he is heavilly marked in returning the ball and coming into the line and two: we need to form our 1st choice half back partnership and stick to it for the season as much as possible.
Part of the reason we were so woeful against leeds is due to the fact we havent had a halfback pairing that has played more than 40 minutes together all season with all the chopping and changing. Finch and Tomkins together can be an awesome partnership purely for the fact that teams trying to cancel out one will inevitably miss the other, and both are massive potent attacking halves who have the ability to tear teams apart all season.
Then the rest of the team picks itself IMO - Simply the strongest team we can put out in every position at the moment. Richards is a bedrock at full back and will cut out the errors we have seen from roberts and tomkins at the back and sturdy our defence. Roberts is simply not good enough to make the cut and should be dropped until he significantly improves.
