Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| We’re entitled to wonder, isn’t there anyone with a background in rugby union who can coach a defence? And what’s happening in rugby league with all these guys deserting the sport?
Firstly, no there isn't because people in Rugby Union couldn't tackle until league came along. Secondly, it's getting worse.

| It's only a matter of time before Rugby Union employs Rugby League coaches to show their players how to run, pass and beat a man.

The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.: |

| Quote: Rogues Gallery "It's only a matter of time before Rugby Union employs Rugby League coaches to show their players how to run, pass and beat a man.'"
They have already started.
One of the biggest "fall outs" of the Wigan-Bath game was the acceptance that RL was streets ahead in this respect.
Why do you think Paul, Robinson, Connolly et al were given short term RU contracts shortly after? Tbh the defensive part of their game came as a shock to many RU fans (though not RU coaches).
As I have said before, RL in the UK will shortly become a feeder sport for RU (if that hasn't already happned already). Those talented youngsters who "slip through the net" from playing RU at a young age, will be scooped up later. We won't see another RU raid on "over the hill" players like Faz, rather youngsters like Ashton, Smith (and dare I say it Tomkins in 3-4 years).
Still, at least the forwards are safe.........
Is RU boring- I am not sure anymore. There is no doubt the talent and skill levels have improved massively. With the current relative financial situations (both natural and self-imposed) in both codes, the talent pool that RU coaches will have to work with will be far greater than that of RL.
A few changes to the rules of RU to encourage less kicking and more handling and it can only get better.
With the "dummy half scoot" killing our game, I don't think we are in a position to throw words like "boring" about.

A Worst of SL 2009 DVD would better some RU games.
I'm a fan of the game, but some Internationals are dull as ditchwater. (usually England games) I thought the Lions tour (especially the 1st and 2nd tests) was pretty good though.

Super 14's is played like League and they have immense skill levels, I enjoy watching it sometimes, mostly if I'm rough and can't be @rsed watching wendyball or SSN.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.

| Watched 5 mins of union because Chris Ashton (*spits on floor*) was playing for Northampton.
He scored the winning try in the last miute and was interviewed after the game, he has still got the deep rooted Wigan twang e.g. when he says round, down etc but he is starting to speak a little like a toff.
I really despise every player who leaves Rugby League and states they want a new challenge when they haven't done much in league first.
I accept Robinson and he was reborn in union and built a legacy in that code also, wish Farrell would have stayed because we missed him so much but would rather him go like he did in his prime rather than Sculthorpe did at Saints but Ashton, Smith, Williams, Gasnier, Cross etc I hope fail miserably.
I hope Stephen Myler does well at union as I didn't rate him in league and prob wouldn't have ammounted to much in league so I don't blame him for taking the chance.
Next one to go is certainly Eastmond and they will be sniffing around Tomkins but I hope and am sure he has the sense to tell them to pi55 off, I would.
Back to the topic union is boring because the forwards are fat, funny shaped posh s called Henry and Rupert with bent noses with rich daddys and the backs are girly looking with little skill just can hoof a ball.

that's actually a good piece and hits a big nail on the head with regards ru with more than a nod of appreciation coming our way. I just hope the powers that be at twickers don't take any notice of him! Weird isn't it, we spend so much time criticising our refs for not blowing the whistle enough to clean up and speed up the ptb and in ru they are critisising theirs for blowing too much at their breakdown!

I'm still disgruntled that a cracking player like Ashton used and abused us and shot off at the first opportunity.
