i still think ian did not give noble enough time.. i think that Maguire would of brought fresh idea's into the squad and the coaching but with noble i feel they would of been a good team working with each other...
I still feel its a big step for maguire and in time when wigan lose a couple of games you will get the fans saying TO BIG OF A JOB FOR HIM..

Hope so.
He's a top bloke and it'd be great of he coached the fullbacks and outside backs at the club.
Get him bringing the water and messages on for the first team. It'd give the crowd a lift seeing rads running about the place.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion but you're wrong Noble was given 3+ years and still didn't build a consistent team. All the players in that squad were signed or re-signed by him. He'd had his time.
Maguire wouldn't have left one of the best clubs in Australia to come and be an assistant in SL. It makes no sense, particularly when he's being touted for head coaches positions over there.

Personally it's not about getting to a final in his first year, I'd just like to see some committed, consistent RL and a top 4 finish. If we do that, who knows what could happen.
Oh, and beating Warrington at your place would be nice too

| I have nothing but pure excitment and optimism for next season.
I can’t wait to see the effect he has on players who need an extra bit of confidence or tough love i.e Gleeson & Roberts =confidence-Fielden, Feka, Pryce & Piggy= tough love. I want to see him and Wane build some of the squad and have them believing in the undbouted talent they have. In Gleeson & Fielden we could have the best centre and prop in the league!!
I also can’t wait to see how he develops our talented under 24’s Tommy, Sam, Joel, Prescott, Mcilorum, Ainscough & Hansen. These guys are the future of our great club and i hope working with a guy that has nutured players like Slater & Inglis will help them develop as well.
There are so many reasons 2 get excited!!

| i wonder how long it'll be before we get sections of fans calling for him to be sacked?
lets wait and see if hes up to it and let the results do the talking, and not him.

Lenagan will give him time especially given he's his own choice.
As for expectations from the fans I think everybody just wants to see a change in terms of commitment. The Wigan public can handle losing(we've got used to it) but what they can't handle is losing limply with the players looking like they couldn't give a to*s.
I want to see a totally committed team every week and i want to see a team that looks like it's putting in the hard yards on the training field. If that still isn't good enough because the other sides have been better then fair enough.
Shaun Wane has said he believes they can get 20% more out of alot of our current players......................i think they can get even more then that out of a couple.
Just look at the change in attitude Tony Smith brought about at Wire in such a short space of time! The trophy was a bonus whereas the preformences they started to get out of the likes of King, Monaghan, Briers etc showed he'd got a commitment from them to improve and that he'd given them confidence.

Noble failed to significantly improve the on field performances over 3 and a half years, in fact I would say we never improved and never consistently matched the form we showed once he took over.
I would not have Brian Noble anywhere near this Wigan squad, for several reasons firstly the performance aspect of things which has not been good enough, and secondly for his recruitment policy of supporting coaches, which was and is being shown up now as totally inadequate. I also think many players were not "coached" and showed little improvement over his time in charge, simply lacked flexibility.
I hope he has learned a thing or 2 from his time at Wigan with regard to this side of things or his time at Celtic could be short lived which would surely end his career as a top flight coach.
