| Well I know I'm not alone in wishing him all the best. He desperately wanted it to work out at Wigan and, for whatever reasons, it just didn't. This was a good move for both clubs and the player and, for once, one that seems to be nothing but positive. Good luck at Warrington Ritchie.

That must be it! We need to stop critisciosing Feka, Fielden, Riddell, Ainscough, Roberts, TL, J Tomkins, Smith etc and we will become world beaters.
I suggest the criticism Mathers got on an Internet forum (and I was actually one who was prepared to give him a chance) has nothing to do with any good form at Wire.
He isn't the first player to leave here in recent years and get a new lease of life elsewhere is he? It used to be the the other way around. We took seemingly average players and turned them into better players.

AJ is spot on. Mathers was hounded and abused by the Wigan fans everytime the ball went near him in a game. Whenever the ball was kicked towards him the fans would start to groan in anticipation of him making an error. You could tell by the way Mathers would hesitate picking a loose ball up that he was scared to death of making a mistake so much so that he was trying so hard not to make an error that he would do. His confidence was shot to pieces. I suggest you try playing fullback with 12000+ of your own so called fans mocking you everytime the ball goes near you.

| Lessons to be learned in regards to Pryce?
Can’t see some people on here practising what they preach however.
Fail to develop Pryce and he WILL come back to haunt us

I think anyone who thinks this was the main reason is way off the mark. Buts lets say its correct and Warrington signed a basket case. Tony Smith has clearly sorted him out.
Now if he can do that, why couldn't our coach protect him as he does after all, exercise a "duty of care" towards his players?
I have no doubt both you and AJ will stick the boot into players you don't think good enough for the club e.g. Higham so its all a bit disingenuous to blame the fans for seeing Mathers off when you would happily slag off other players yourself.

Why are you arguing about something thats never been mentioned. Who said Wire signed a basket case?
Wire signed a player that the majority of Wigan fans destroyed. Dont tell me you never heard the abuse he got at games from his own so called fans. Like i said even when he was still at Wigan,he was so scared of making a mistake that he would make a mistake. Maybe at Warrington he can concentrate more on playing the game rather than the so called 12000+ fans on his back everytime the ball goes near him.

Noble tried to protect him by playing him in the reserves to boost his confidence where there was no pressure on him. The difference was at Wire when he came into the first team he didnt have his own fans on his back.

Seriously you and Micky Higham need to get a room and get this obsession out of your system. Remember Alex's bedroom thread? Well im convinced yours is the same but with Mickys pics rather than Trents.

| Mathers has always had the ability, but now he's got a coach who can bring the best out of him.

| Its impossible to state the exact reason for his failure at Wigan without knowing the ins and outs of what went on off the pitch. However, judging by the amount of underperforming players in the past few seasons, coaching could well have something to do with it.

We didn't set one up because we didn't want to sit in a facebook group on our own and look like a tool.
