Which is good enough for me.

Maybe that will be the making of him. Not only will he be playing for himself he will also be playing to make his new baby proud, so, given a chance, maybe more determined than ever.
Just to back up DaveO Wigan has made money off sending Ainscough and others on loan which they obviously wouldn't be able to with certain players.
However, I do feel I would rather have him playing for Wigan rather than not no matter what anyone else says. Despite this I believe the move could be the best for him as he hasn't been given as many chances as others.
I for one hope he shows everyone the player he has the potential to be given the right team and the right coaching staff.
Good luck to him with his new family and his future playing career!

Well, at Bradford he'll be onto his sixth, so lets hope he gets lucky this time.

| Wigan did not send Ainscough out to make money for the club. They sent him out to play at a better level than the u20's.
Wigan had the option to recall him at any time but chose not to preferring to play Pryce when the opportunities arose. It was nothing to do with money, as Pryce was still being paid the same whether he was in the first or U20 team, the coaches obviously thought that he (Pryce) was the better man for the job.
Good luck to Shaun, I really hope it works out well for him, and maybe a change of scenery will be good for him and his new family.

A loan is for a minimum period of 28 days so when he was on loan to Cas recalling him at any time (for the first 28 days) was not an option. Those are the rules.
Regarding the dual reg at Widnes he played a grand total of three games for them before being recalled for his one game with us so that is hardly preferring Pryce who who I don't think had played a game for the 1st team up to that point. Ainscough then went out on loan which as I said you can't get recalled from for 28 days minimum. So this rather gives lie to your theory because for a large chuck of the season he was on loan which isn't so flexible and he did get recalled after only a few games at Widnes when on dual reg. The bottom line is Pryce was available at times Ainscough was not.

Pryce played his first game for Wigan on 2nd May, Ainscough played his last game for Cas on the 9th April. There was nothing to prevent the coaching staff selecting Ainscough ahead of Pryce.

Good business then, gained experience and made the club some money.

So do you think they would all have been better staying at Wigan and playing U20's?

Exactly - made for a more healthy bank balance not a more healthy and happy player/players.

When he was out on loan they could not recall him at the drop of a hat as you implied and he was recalled after only three games at Widnes on his first dual reg stint (in Feb). When back at Widnes on his 2nd dual reg stint the arrangements as to when he could be recalled would be subject to negotiation between the two clubs e.g. Wigan would agree only to call him back if there was injuries to certain players or after a set number of games so as to make it worth Widnes while to take him back. Dual reg is not the simple system you seem to think it is and traditional loans certainly are not.

Wigan COULD have played Ainscough from May 2nd, but CHOSE to play Pryce. As I said ,dice and slice it as many ways you like, but the coaching staff CHOSE to not too play Ainscough. And it's as simple as that.
Just as an aside, Chris Dean is a dual registered player with Widnes, but has never played for them.
