More handling errors than you might see normally, but I would take a game like that over a 30 point hammering of someone.

| Just relieved that we won. 3 losses in a row didn't bare thinking about.
That being said how can we be so dogged this week and so powderpuff last week? We're so Jackal and Hyde it's crazy.
I said last week that the measure of a good coach is the gap between his team's best and worst performances. Sadly the difference between ours is too large to take too much comfort from tonight.
Tonight's the minimum that I'd expect from us and I really, really do hope this is finally the line in the sand.
On another note - I'm surprised how well Kevin Brown came across tonight.

I’d go as far as saying Brown has been the best that Sky have had on in that role for a long time. The commentary otherwise (Jenna aside) was dog rough as per.

I think everyone would love for Lam to be a success but I don’t think tonight changed anything regards my thinking. Our effort and desire most of the time is absolutely spot on and it was again tonight but I still couldn’t see tonight what our game plan is. We played completely risk free rugby, so we’re certainly not just playing what’s in front of us or being encouraged to express ourselves but then there’s no structure to it that I can see. People say sometimes after a win ‘nobody will be calling for x coaches head tonight’ but my opinion on him is exactly the same as last week. He isn’t the man for us IMO but would love to be proved wrong.

Credit for what exactly? If Austin doesn’t bottle it, Widdop doesn’t do the frankly bizarre things he did; Warrington win. We won yes but we were still for the most part, poor. A win doesn’t change my mind, I’m not that fickle.

Great call.
I said exactly the same to my son
A good old fashioned run hard tackle hard prop.
Thought Bullock did ok as well and did more minutes than usual which for me was really pleasing. I though that he was limping after the game but hopefully nothing too serious

Agree 100%
Over the moon with the win but I can still see we seem rudderless for the majority of the minutes.
Tough game next week versus Catalan who for me are the dark horses of the competition.

I am glad that we won but on another day we could have been 20 odd points down at half time. For the first 25 minutes we were second best everywhere. I thought that Partington put in a good shift and Isa stood up well despite the sin binning but we were being outgunned. We struggled to get out of our half again which meant that we had to rely on defence again.
I am not sure what we want Bibby to do. When young Hanley dropped the same amount of ball against Saints there were messages on here calling for him to be sacked so I would suggest that Bibby is no longer suited to the wing position and he looked more confident in the centres. I do wish that he would not come in off the wing and run across his centre in a desperate attempt to make a tackle.
Singleton looks a step up from Clark and I thought that we looked a lot more balanced when Smith came on.

Felt really refreshing watching Singleton play - he'll be a good replacement for Ben Flower.
Bullock did well in playing more minutes than he's used to - what in God's name was that pass mid way through the second half though?

His subs changed the game.
His shift of Hardaker to the wing shored up the defence.
All calls he had to make during the game.

| It was an interesting game tonight. A real Shaun Wane style performance.
Defensively I thought we were outstanding, we soaked up a lot of pressure and had a lot of second phase plays to deal with.
Oli P came up with a game changer (did he do 80 mins BTW?) That hit on Austin which led to the try was a massive turning point in the game. They were well on top at the time, Austin was causing us a lot of problems, after the hit he went into grubby hissy fit mode and the try gave us a lot of confidence.
The second half was much better and proves the pack can hold its own. We started to win the territory battle and build pressure which told in the end.
Having another big body in the middle in Singleton (good debut BTW) will help. He’s the type of fairly low cost (I assume), experienced prop we and every team need a couple of.
I’m pretty happy over all, it was a far from great performance but I was expecting a heavy defeat so to come out with a win in a tough, intense game like that is (to use a Wane word) very satisfying.

It was great seeing a natural experienced Prop on the field.
Partington came up with some big plays in isolation but still lacks the size in my opinion to be a long term solution at Prop.
When we signed Singleton there were quite a few comments regarding his lack of size, however he looked significantly bigger than most of our pack tonight.

Totally agree. Let's hope he performs even better when his fitness improves.
Havard, Bullock,Singleton & Kilner could be a decent set of 4 next year.
I think Bullock was just knackered when he got the ball. He should just have drove in and took the tackle.

Mate his tactics rendered us rudderless once again against a Warrington team who’s HB’s were simply appalling. The call of Hardaker to the wing was seen by Stevie Wonder. He brought Harry Smith on too late for his usual quality cameo appearance, luckily on this occasion it won us the game.
JH to hooker?
Tommy STILL our kicker?
Lockers starting?
Bibby?
There’s no credit to be given her jonh. We won yes and I’m glad we won but my god it wasn’t good and Wire should have been 20 up by HT.

| I’ve said these past few weeks, our prop department is in a funny position. One one hand it’s currently not good enough, it has a lad on huge money who looks past retirement and two old timers ready to follow. That ties our hands and make it difficult to recruit but on the other hand we have a number of hugely promising young props, we have Bullock who is really improving and now Singleton looks like he could be a shrewd move. It’s been a weak point for a while and still is but it could turn around pretty quickly. There’s a basis of a good front row forming with Partington, Bullock, Havard, Singleton, Byrne, Kilner and Clark all offering promise at points. If only we could manage to get George Burgess either sorted or off the books and replaced.
