| Haha, never gets old...
I explained my reasons behind Gelling staying and I most certainly didn't state he was 100% staying, I simply said I believed he would. I was wrong about him and also the Micky Mc situation. I learnt that no matter what quantity of bars, protein or t-shirts a player requests to be delivered, it doesn't mean he will be staying at the club
Whiffy...I am more than sure your not one to start calling people out on what they claim on here, however I will bite, you will struggle to find a post of me in the last couple of weeks stating Zak would not or has not signed. After I was aware he would join I said nothing. I simply stated the facts that at the time, he was unsure and the club worked very hard to sign him, so much so, mid-way through a great season we are left dealing with a resigning head coach, nevertheless, I always stated the decision was his. I am delighted he's signed for us. End of story.
The odds on DP have come in from 10/1 to 5/1 and will likely reduce further in the coming days. I highly doubt either club will want to announce/admit to anything whilst the season is in full flow and trophies are still to be won.

But Zak had signed many weeks before your post so he must have been telling you porkies!

You do realise that he is contracted to Cas until the end of 2020. Wigan would have to ask permission from the Cas board before they can even speak to him. I can assure you Wigan haven't at this moment so you continue to encourage all on here to throw their money away. Having said that we all know Wigan are famous for not sticking to the rules.

Soz lad, didn't realise you were from Cas, your pathetic username confused me.
You're still building your outside bogs in Cas, so i would suggest a cleaning of your local cesspit.

They'd have to buy him out of his contract, that's true.
But it happens a lot, so don't bank on that saving you.
What's more likely to keep Powell at Cas is that I don't think he'd be Wigan's first choice. You had a good year last year, but still didn't win anything of note, while this year you're among the also-rans. That's not an enticing CV when Wigan are looking to replace a multi-trophy winner like Wane.

| I think Powell would be a great coach for someone if he decides to move on to bigger and better things, but I'd be a bit worried about how he'd manage at Wigan.
Seems too much like Brian Clough going to Leeds. He's spent that long setting up Wigan as the enemy that it's going to be hard to get past that imo.

| anyone who has half an idea about the betting industry knows too well that a good rumour can swing the betting massively; just because someone's odds have suddenly dropped massively it does not mean there is truth in said rumour.
a group of mates chatting and throwing some bets on will soon catch on in a pub, next minute half the town is on it. a bookie will pick up on that and slash the odds accordingly. I actually think it will be neither Edwards or Powell but that's just my personal opinion as I can't see either happening.
and technically, spreading insider info through / via a bookies is actually illegal so i'd be careful what goes on here about things like that if I was you lot

He put pen to paper and signed for the club on Tuesday 15th May, you show me a post from myself saying he hasn't/won't sign after that date. Toronto offered him a great deal, Cas also came in late for a return and Warrington showed an interest. Wigan offered an improved deal which he subsequently signed. If you have any evidence to contradict that then please do allude, however I guess you simply want to stand by the "he signed ages ago!" stance.

I am more than sure the users of this forum are capable of using their general intelligence when it comes to placing any bets and subsequent affordability. It is quite obviously a long-game, as I said, I doubt anything will be revealed or announced regards DP or any coach for that matter whilst the competition is still on-going.

I don't think that is what has happened at all, no one has claimed to have information from any betting organisation or company. I simply alluded to the fact at 10/1 a £30 pound bet would cover a season ticket for next year

For what it's worth I believe you, however I've just read that Zak asked to go back to Cas and they said no?

I guess it really is for him to explain, if anyone can be bothered, just go back and look through the posts I made on the matter. Not once did I post anything that I was entirely unsure of.
He was sacked pretty much straight away after the failed test, the legal team made it clear a reduced ban would potentially be possible, Cas then invited him back on a very, very low contract. Wigan showed interest (which I am now guessing was KR contacting him & I believe this is why people assume he signed ages ago), that interest was then rescinded and I posted that on here. Several other clubs then made offers, Toronto were front runners but Warrington remained his favoured destination due to friends he has there. A late offer from Cas wanting him back for 2019 followed by Wigan travelling over to see him and his family and coming in with a much improved offer that he signed.
I am delighted he is finally with us, God knows i've suggested it to him thousands of times! I know many are not but I hope we can clean slate it and we will all enjoy watching him shine!
