| Sets it up for an epic night, Wigan major underdogs, commentary write us off before it's started. Wigan wrestle with them for the first 20 mins, confidence grows, some of our underperformers have the game of their lives .... TBC

| Quote: Grimmy "People have been saying it's due to his age and not wanting to over-expose him. I understand that but it's so frustrating knowing we have such a talented lad in the stands and a real lack of flair on the field. If you're good enough, you're old/experienced enough IMO. Get him in Shaun!'"
Unlike Murphy who got one game and then a semi-final to deal with Hampshire has a) had a few more games and b) this is not a semi final must win game.
We are playing the most unimaginative RL I have seem in years. OK early in the season against poorer sides we looked great but against the better teams we seem to have no idea how to unlock defences and it is just so boring to watch the same thing being tried and failing again.
The only way I can see us winning tonight is to stop them scoring and us sneak a couple of tries - pretty much like we did to Hull at Wembley because at the moment we don't seem to have more than 16 points available from our attack.

| are we the most pessimistic fans in the Super League?? the majority of our own fans seem to have written us off before we've even turned up to the game. There are threads about how many tickets we have sold or how many Huddersfield have sold and why we haven't shifted more...it seems apparent, why would most of you pay your ten quid to go and watch your own team that you have written off.
I seem to be one of a small group who are actually considering a win may happen.

The back 3 are too lightweight and we need a bit of grunt and that x-factor...why cant we play Hock? Isn't he our player til the end of the season? He's worth including despite some of his shortcomings. Plus I'd bring back Burke a loose forward to replace Lockers.'"
Maybe because he cr@pped on our club, twice? He refused to train, then we sent him to sulk in Widnes all year, and he's generally a bad egg anyway, would you really want to be relying on him in one of our biggest games of the season? How stupid would we look if he deliberately had a stinker or kicked off with a team mate/coach mid-game or refused to come off the bench etc? All far more plausible than him coming in and killing it IMO. He's a brilliant player on his day but there's no way we should have him back now.

| Man City recalled Carlos Tevez after he refused to train and play for the club, he came back and helped them win the league.
When people look back at the history books, they wont be talking about Tevez but about the Premiership the team won.

If I want to be pessimistic I can be. I do not think we're going to win tonight, I'm sorry but that's my opinion. If we do win then fantastic! But I realistically don't think we will. I have been watching Wigan all my life and can remember going to games with high hopes and then getting crushed. What's the point going into a game where you're the underdog and thinking you're going to win? 99% of the time it's going to end in tears. So I'm going to go into this one thinking that we'll get beat with the tiny bit of hope that we wont. Okay? Thanks.
Oh and p.s if you want to see real pessimism, stumble on to one of the lesser teams boards. You'll have a field day.

I have been thinking exactly the same. If we could have handpicked a way to Old Trafford 2 months ago we would all have picked two games against Huddersfield. I am fully expecting a win tonight, built on excellent defence. Proper playoff rugby league.

If you were trying to be clever by taking that sentence out of context I'd put that down as a fail if I were you.
