Its simple really.
To open that stand it costs the same as the south stand, with no guarantee that the stand will even be a quarter full, it becomes more a case of keeping your losses to a minimum then actually making money. Considering the club itself makes no money on food or drink, which many think we do.
The home end will always be around 60 - 70% full so therefore the costs are easier to cover meaning the prices can be cheaper.
Its maybe not common practice in Rugby League but a lot of places will charge more for away fans.

| Excellent all-round performance, great completion rate in very wet conditions (especially 2nd half) but still prepared to throw the ball around. OK, a badly weakened Hull team, admittedly, but we'd have beaten most teams playing like that.
McIlorum was superb, really organised and controlled the game as a good hooker should - and both halves profited from that, plus complete dominance by our forwards, especially Lima and Prescott, looking forward to seeing their stats when they come out...and Hansen deserves special mention too for all his work and some great hits. Hock was a monster early on, but seemed to tire early, or did he pick up a knock?
Even Ganson had a half-decent game, maybe because the TV cameras weren't there?

| I haven't been to Hull since the days of the Boulevard. I have experienced the warm welcome that the Hull morons give away fans and until I hear that things have improved, I won't be back. A disgrace to RL.

Could have fooled me. Your lack of understanding in this area seems pretty clear.
You make the most basic error of comparing it to the home stand in an economic perspective(although it is a political decision that will have kept people away as they felt unfairly treated, therefore a bad economics decision). That is not the issue at all. It's about maximising the revenue from away supporters.

We were made very welcome by the different sets of Hull fans we were chatting to before and after the game, though we got away well before the coaches left, so didn't know anything about the bricking allegations/comments till getting back and reading about them online. All the ones we talked with were just whinging about their own team's performances and prospects. Everywhere has their share of morons, unfortunately.

Ditto. Made one exception for the play off game few years ago. That's all!

Me too. Not been since the nineties, always had the impression that both Hull clubs were least inviting when it came to away supporters.
That is not to say there haven't been many great Hull (and KR) fans mixing with Wigan fans over the years.
Remember the great relationship we had mixing with Hull KR fans at Millenium Magic at Cardiff in it's first year?

| Yes and on a personal level I have made quite a few friends from Hull, on this very forum. But I'm not going back to Hull. Not even convinced it's fans, but you get that many apologists, and the club and police aren't taking it seriously as it seems to happen regularly.

| Well I attended. Even if I was nursing a badly strained wrist after an unfortunate mishap whilst putting some trousers on earlier in the day.
As for the game. I thought we did very well to keep our concentration for more or less the full eighty. There were a few lapses but overall that aspect was pleasing. As was our defense effort, particularly when Hull had a good ten minute spell in the first half off the back of good old Steve Ganson. The pack did well over all, I was particularly pleased by Dudson, who put in a cracking performance yet again. At present with Mossop's imminent return Lauaki would be the one to miss out for me. Not that he's doing a great deal wrong, just that those around him are doing and offering more.
No massive standout's in the backs, although it's sometimes easy to forget just what a fit Pat Richards brings to the team. Hopefully it's nothing serious on his part. Carmont had a bit of a shocker really, not in defense but rather being a little ball greedy at times.
Overall I thought it was a very professional performance.
Now it's time to dust off the flat cap and get ready to mix in the with the yocal's on Friday night.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

Why dont you try again now that the idiots of the other board have gone and Pearson is now in charge. As for the police...take it thats FCs fault as well.

Thanks Geoff, I'll take that on board. The annoying thing is that at Grand Finals and CC finals and elsewhere I've met lots of Hull fans over the years and haven't had any problems, in fact when we were in the doldrums we seemed to have a lot in common with them and I've had lots of friendly chats with FC fans a long way from Humberside, but my perception has always been that the idiots don't travel. My experience of going to the Boulevard was based on a number of visits in the 90s when the behaviour of a small but significant minority of their fans was just shocking. I had hoped the new stadium would mean things would improve, but the stories I've heard since then haven't inspired confidence.

100% agree. The failure back in the 90s of anyone at the club or amongst the fans to acknowledge there was an issue was a massive problem and I haven't seen much evidence (apart from Geoff's comments) that anything has changed.
