I'd guess that £1m is more likely to be the transfer fee involved than Sam's annual wage, if there's any truth in it. Seriously concerned about the stregnth and dept hof our squad next year compared to this and last.

Add to that the supporting depth of O carroll and cross and we need to add quality next year.

Thomas and Lauaiki are average players at best and do not compare to any of the top three noted above. Flower and Dudson are young lads and are not at the same level as O Carroll and Cross.

I wouldnt totally rule it out, as seen with Gleeson, IL will pay a fee and he knows he will have to appease supporters if Joel goes. He will also also knows 2 kids and a celeb from Crusaders and a sub par quota player from Hull send totally the wrong message.

The signings that we are rumoured to have made look like cost cutting signings to me. Compare thesde to our two biggest rivals and neighbours:
Wigan: Lauaiki, Thomas, Flower
Wire ins : Waterhouse, Radford, Hill
Saints: Lafranchi, Hohiho

Based on this i would take all 3 of wire's signings and both of saints over our rumoured recruits.

That is the "marquee player" but that player must come form overseas or be a product of your academy. Joel is neither.
