| Quote: Cruncher "But what makes us think that we could get Dobson away from Hull KR? Why would he want to leave Hull KR, given that they're currently a lot better than us and clearly better coached?
We do sometimes talk as if we'd only have to snap our fingers and he'd come running. He guested for us for half a year. He's already been with Rovers quite a bit longer, and is almost certainly well settled.'"
Guess you could look at it the same way with Morgan 2 and why he would come to us?
But i have to say with no disrespect intended to Hull KR at all we are still a bigger club with better attendances, history, training & playing facilities and a better junior set up.
I still think we could turn a few heads in regards to SL players and coaches if we come knocking

| Quote: jonh "He is a good player but not one at his age and quality i will be over the moon about signing. If we are looking at a 29 year old half they need to be top class, while i do rate him as a good player i do not think he falls into the top class bracket of player. I would also much prefer us to go for an out and out specialist halve, he does remind me somewhat of an older version of TL.'"
How
Fien is an organiser who directs a team, Tommy is a dynamic runner who plays off the cuff.
Anyway I agree with NickyKiss that we should look to Myler first off. He would be a great signing but him and Sam would need a senior player to guide them a bit. If fans would be willing to wait 2 or 3 seasons we could have the England half back partnership and the best in Super League.
Dobson would be great to have but I can't see him leaving Hull KR whilst they are on the up. Same goes for Morgan as coach really although they would both be fantastic.
Fien would be the 3rd choice, he is a very good organiser, can pass, can kick so would no doubt improve our side as he posseses most of the qualities we are lacking in the half back area at the moment. However his age is a downside but if we can't get the other 2 mentioned I would be happy with Fien for 2010

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Both would be great additions to the squad. But its how long can we keep them over here. Sam is not going to be in a championship-winning team if his partner keeps changing every few years. That's why Myler would be the better option IMO.
Look at Leeds, Burrow & McGuire have played together for over 5 seasons and neither is spectaculary great or devastating on their own whilst the other is injured. Yet together they combine to make a good combination with addition from Sinfield at 13 and Buderus/Diskin at 9.
We should look at Myler for the 6/7 combo with Tomkins.
Comtemplated by a 13 (Lockers on the up) and Leuluai/McIlorum/Riddell at 9.

| Wigan are speaking to North Queensland about the potential availability of Carl Webb, I know this as fact.
The Observer today has an interview where Lenagan confirms Wigan will be bringing in a prop and halfback for 2010 and that Leuluai will be spending more time at hooker.
Also according to the link, Jonathan Thurston is claiming he is considering two offers from SL clubs for 2011. Classic negotiating technique IMO, he won't leave NRL.

So would I.
If we could also get Myler then that would be a big bonus. As I've posted on here, Burrow and McGuire rarely started together for about three years. Andrew Dunamann was first choice starting halfback.
Fien is a good pro who has a great kicking and passing game, but is not a running halfback. He would be an ideal replacement for Tim Smith.

| NORTH Queensland Cowboys NRL star Carl Webb has been charged with drink-driving just 17 hours after his own wedding.
The Queensland State of Origin representative was pulled over by a booze bus at 7am on Saturday in Flinders St East, Townsville, after driving back to clean up after his wedding reception.
Police have charged Webb with a BAC offence -
guess he wont be coming after all unless ther are some changes with visa rules
