Neither is ever gonna happen sadly but I'd happily pay 1.5 times my current season ticket price to raise the money for Wigan to do it.

Roby never would but theres no reason why we couldn't sign Chase. Infact he's exactly the type of player I expect to move on to a club like Wigan, Wire, Saints or Leeds given time.
Cas are doing a great job this season but if one of those clubs came calling for Chase and were willing to pay a fee they may be tempted and if not teams will just wait to his deals up(whenever that may be).
I can't see Cas being able to keep him for a great length of time sadly.

I was actually saying to my dad just before the Saints game on Friday that we should be offering big money for Chase. Whether or not its viable I don't know, but I'd like to think that he's the level of player we could be after and could possibly have room for under the cap next year, no idea what his contract status is mind. Although like you say it'd be a shame for Cas, as I think he's integral to their team.

Hopefully Cas will get their new stadium sorted and that should help their cause when it comes to keeping their best players but even then a move to one of the games big 4 or 5 teams may be hard to turn down.
You only need to look at guys like Shenton and Westerman to see how difficult it is for them and going further back to the days when they lost guys like Orr and Godwin. They're a fantastic club and some of the stuff they've played this year has been exceptional but certain things out of their control limit them as a club.

| I would have thought playing Tomkins at Full Back would be the best thing for you! Some of the returns he did from kicks on Good Friday where quite superb. The lad is devastating when given space to run.

| its the best thing ever for the defending teams, they can have 4 men running at him and he has no support, or anyone else to aid his attempts at stepping or dummy passing, etc

| There's some tosh written on here about Sam Tomkins. Poor defence, ball greedy, poor kicking game, what a load of rubbish. Just rejoice that he plays for us and try to learn something about rugby league.

| It's no coincidence that his best moments have come this year when playing off the cuff. He's too restricted at full back to be part of the 'move' rather than doing what he does best at 6 which is to react to what is in front of him. Kicks over the top, running the opposite way across the field to set up the Charnley try, there's two examples. We are lucky to have him.

| I once remember Shaun Edwards returning from a serious knee injury and getting booed at an home game V Hull KR, once again proof that some Wigan fans know ragg all about the game. Reading some of the posts on this tread I see some fans brain cells havent evolved over the 20 odd years or so.
This kid is probably twice as talented as Shaun Edwards and has the same winning mentality, give a lad a break and just sit back, watch, enjoy and think yourself lucky youre in an era in which he will be in his pomp.
Its only when I look back now and remember the likes of Hanley and Gregory do I realise how lucky I was to watch them and the team around them.
