Just a shame they never seem to pick up any obstructions when Wigan run two or three dummy runners who then stop and stand in the defences line.

More of a shame that you lot were so battered in the second half that you abandoned the midfield to Wigan. That was where you lost it. The result was nothing to do with contentious decisions, unlike your last two wins.

I'm not complaining about the result as Wigan deserved their victory today, I just have a dislike of how every team are now using dummy runners instead of the skill of a player to breach a defence.

Super league went through a stage of flat attack with no dummy runners. I do not ever want to go back to that stage, ever.

Stating the bleedin' obvious here, but....what goes around, comes around. When a reliable defense is worked out to counter dummy runners, tactics will change again. It's the measure of a good coach that can adapt & switch plays between games, but it's those actually on the park that have to expect the unexpected if they're going to get anywhere near a result. SOL being one of the best practitioners of said talent at the moment, which is why we tend to run rings around opposition when his head's screwed on right.

Looking at the current saints side I have to admit that I don't rate the majority of their side. Guys like Makinson, Jones, Wilkin, LMS, Flanagan & Turner aren't the kind of superstars like Long, Scully, Lyon, Pauleta were.

Thinking about it realistically was it ever in doubt? It was primarily Saints produced youth vs Wigan produced youth. The young wigan lads have always beaten their counterparts at every level for the past five years.

There's no comparison when you compare our emerging talent vs Anyone in SL.
