I seem to remember - and I hope I'm wrong - listening to a version of "The Mighty Quinn" at Central Park during the 1980s, except the lyrics were changed to the Mighty Wigan. Please tell me I'm wrong.
Oh, and also a song based on Mike Harding's Uncle Joe's Mintballs. Again, I'd like to believe its not true and its something I dreamt in fever-induced nightmare.

as the mighty quinn was a record by the group manfred man in the late 1960s.i think football and rl teams were using it for chant since then.
i sure i heard the chant on motd in the 60s with diffrent words for each team fans but i could be wrong and my age is playing tricks |

It's ridiculous, I have one United supporting mate who's refusing to do the "Poznan" because it's a City thing.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

I'm sure someone posted a link to an MP3 of this five or six years ago. It wasn't very good quality but it was defo good enough to use as my ringtone at the time.  |
