| I think people are panicking over nothing really. Your problem is that you have drawn a lower league team with a small capacity ground. You will have more than 1000 supporters at the game anyway because we have quite a large pie element here. Having picked my tickets up this morning and spoken to the right people I am pretty sure that there may well be a small amount of tickets left. Would you be willing to pay for a ticket at the ground on the day or will you be expecting a 'freebie' ?
Paying for a ticket would certainly help both clubs because the gate money is shared isn't it ?
Keep your eyes on the Raiders Forum and also the website is the only advice I can give.
In a way I hope you don't get the chance for a ticket above your allocation because that will mean the game has sold out locally which is good for the club. It will also make it that bit harder for you to get a result.
Those of you lucky enough to have a ticket - DO NOT PARK ON TESCO CARPARK OR YOU WILL GET CLAMPED. Again keep your eye on the Barrow Forum as im sure the Club are trying to negotiate a parking area. I usually park next to Mcdonalds on Hollywood Park and have had no problems so far.
OH AND JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR...............THE GAME WILL BE PLAYED AT THE MARK COWARD STADIUM CRAVEN PARK. WHY WOULD THE CLUB WANT TO SWITCH VENUES AND RUIN THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME TO GET MORE SUPPORT ON BOARD !

| Quote SRC="SRC"We're not talking about a stadium that holds 500 here, we're talking about a capacity of 6,400.
I don't understand your problem. Barrow are AT HOME. The town is buzzing about 'the rugby' (we were promoted last season in case you didn't know) and the Wigan match has added to that 'buzz'. Widnes aside, we are one of the best supported clubs outside Super League. We are also one of the oldest clubs in the sport and have a very good Challenge Cup pedigree with 5 finals and umpteen semi's.
You suggest we move the game to a larger neutral venue in Cumbria, well the only one I know of is Carlisle which is 90-odd miles from Barrow.
Craven Park may be old and crumbling and no longer holds 22,000 (as it once did), but it is owned by Barrow RLFC and will remain so.'"
Sorry, couldn't resist!

Getting to a semi is a good achievement.
Barrow were arguably the best RL team in the country in the 50's, with a backline that made up the GB backline.
Most RL fans seem to have forgotten the sports history since Murdock's Circus was invented. Had he decided to pump his cash into RL 10 years earlier, Barrow would most probably be where you are now (but still own our own stadium )

| We're all looking forward to the trip and us Wiganers are quite a social bunch
Mini bus is provisionally booked for a 10 a.m start.
Like you I think those who really want tickets will find ways to get them.
Come and join us for a beer or three when we arrive.

Without sounding tight season ticket holders expect or did expect at the start of the season a free ticket as it's one of the perks of having a season ticket isn’t it? After all the money they spend going home and away league games, preseason and playoffs it’s almost like a little thanks for their support.
Although I realise that it did say while stocks last I will be pretty miffed and I know others will be to if they miss out on something they thought they were going to get cause your ground isn’t big enough. If the RFL are going to run a promotion like this then they’ve got to deliver on what they promise imo and 1000 tickets is no where near filling that promise! Just my opinion of course but I’m sure others will share it and some won’t.
That’s not also including all the fans who will miss out who are willing to pay but yet still want to go! Some teams should be forced if their attendances are bellow a certain level to change venues.

Thats my 2nd point - we need to organise somewhere to meet up for a mingle and a beer before hand - There is a bar in the ground and all proceeds will help the club imensely

As usual the the RFL haven't though this one through and it is a cr@p initiative. However, it doesn't need a brain surgeon to understand that there are many teams you could draw in the Challenge Cup that couldn't accommodate all your season ticket holders.
Indeed, how many SL teams could accommodate 10,000 away fans ??
Celtics - No
Bradford - Maybe
Leeds - Maybe
Salford - No
Catalans - No
Warrington - No
Hull - Maybe
Hull KR - No
Cas - No
Wakefield- No
Saints - No
Huddersfield - Probably
Quins - Probably

| Lets see how many of the 10,000 turn up at Salford tomorrow.
Much easier and cheaper to get to than Barrow.
