| He is a good player but not one at his age and quality i will be over the moon about signing. If we are looking at a 29 year old half they need to be top class, while i do rate him as a good player i do not think he falls into the top class bracket of player. I would also much prefer us to go for an out and out specialist halve, he does remind me somewhat of an older version of TL.

| It just depend if we want a "team" player or an "individual" player. Fein IMO is the former. He has a very good kicking and passing game and good organisational skills.
What he is not is a player who is going to run 50 metre tries in, but we should have enough strike power outside him to do that.
What we don't need is people getting on his back before he ever plays a game if (he signs).

| His kicking game during the world cup was exceptional and in the final against the Aussies he pinned the best side in the world pinned in their own half.
If Tomkins and Leuluai are more running halfs then an organiser with a superb kicking game would look to be a good balance but Myler would still be my number 1 target if he has to be signed at the end of this year due to interest from other sides.
I suppose we're presuming that Myler wants to leave Salford which may not be the case. Along with Ratchford, Turner, Adamson etc they're building up a fine young team.

Still got to say Dobbo would be my first choice.
He wasn't at his best on Friday but still scored a try, kicked three goals, one penalty and got a crucial 40/20 and was held up over the line!! Not a bad return really compared with Tim Smith’s contribution.
He would take us to the next level and imo is the form HB in SL.
We should be looking at him and Morgan

I agree Dobbo would be a great signing. But Fien and also Myler are more realistic
Cant see any reason any of the two you named would want to leave Hull KR. would love them both but will never happen

I thought given the amount of pressure we applied to Dobson and the conditions he was superb.
Head and shoulders the best halfback on the field.
Still i'd hope we'd be looking at in order-
1-Myler
2-Dobson
3-Fien

But what makes us think that we could get Dobson away from Hull KR? Why would he want to leave Hull KR, given that they're currently a lot better than us and clearly better coached?
We do sometimes talk as if we'd only have to snap our fingers and he'd come running. He guested for us for half a year. He's already been with Rovers quite a bit longer, and is almost certainly well settled.

Not sure we could but if you don't ask you don't get do you?
If we matached exactly the same offer as Hull Kr put to him he'll take the KR one so we'd probably have to go higher. Mr Lenagan may not want to do that so who knows.............it's all just speculation and throwing random names around at this moment in time.
I'd still like to think we're a decent draw for players though.

I'm sorry but you don't bring someone half way across the world just to improve on the amount of penalties and errors made. We signed him because he was apparently one of the most deceptive hookers in the game. The only thing that is deceptive about him is his appearance as a professional athlete.
He has had the Bradford game of note and that has been it and maybe the odd bit in patches which is not good enough.

| id like nothing better than to see us go into next season with Justin Morgan as coach and Dobson at HB but imo its completely unrealistic. sadly, its only the aussie press that see us as a 'glamour club' and our history and standing in the game has been severally dented by our lack luster performances over the last 4 or 5 years (and probably longer)
gone are the days when we could pick and choose who we signed so i guess we have to take whats available
sad, but true
