If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10172.jpg |

This. He turned to avoid being put on his arris, then turned it into a bit of fun.

I was sitting with family in what passes for their main stand. With 10 minutes to go we were surrounded by scousers. With five minutes to go the stand was mostly empty, they really did pile out of the Trailer Park in a big hurry. How these muppets can ever criticise Wigan fans for leaving early is beyond me.

It's nothing new. Back in 1997, I had the pleasure of attending Knowsley Road and watching Wigan canter to a 65-12 victory. The stadium was emptying rapidly by half-time. At the end of the season, Micron Video's annual highlights tape included footage taken outside the ground just after half-time - it showed Saints fans streaming away in droves.
HALF-TIME ... I ask you.
You're right, they've got some face to call us. But then they are scousers.

| Got to say I thought it was very funny.
Directed straight at the cretins who were singing 'there's only 1 Sam Tomkins' after his error for the first try. Very cheeky and the best possible response!
Part of me dies every time a moronic sports fan goes mad after giving a player dogs abuse for 80 mins, then getting all morally indignant when they get it shoved back in their face. If you can't take it, don't give it!
The same thing goes for Hock's celebrations, although in saying that, throwing the ball at the fans isn't acceptable (as it wouldn't be acceptable if a fan threw something at a player.)

| As a Saints fan after watching it back I thought the trot was actually Sam trotting away from a more raw emotional in your face Hock like celebration.
Nowt wrong with either in the heat of battle - if you dish it out you have to take it.

| The way everyones reacted I think the next time we're on tv (Huddeersfield away?) every time we score we should just keep our heads down and walk away, see what the muppets in the commentary box say then.

I remember another muppet in another commentary box - Ray French at Wembley in 1985 - getting irate with Brett Kenny because he was walking slowly around with his head down before the kick off. It was Bert's style to quietly contemplate the forthcoming action, but I think old Ray saw it as an arrogant Aussie failng to buy into the Wembley excitement.

| Don't understand the issue with it, if you sing "there's only one Sam Tomkins" when he drops a ball, don't expect him to trot back to the other half of the field with his hands in his pockets if he scores in front of the Saints end.
Fair play to him, good bit of derby banter.
First time I've been back on here since Friday (don't really post when I'm not skiving at work ) but congratulations on a great performance. Plenty of heart and certainly one team wanted it more.

Very fair comments mate.
I said the other day the Saints fan played a risky game jeering a player that good when he made a mistake after only ten minutes. He then had 70 to put it right and did.
He just gave a bit back when he got the chance and as the old saying goes 'don't dish out what you can't take yourself'.
I'm still traumatised by Tommy Martyns smirking face now but he deserved to wind our lot up after we called him a scruffy, cheating gypsy (and worse in some songs) for the full 80 mins of each derby!

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

| I might as well stick it on here rather than make a new thread.
Anyone know whether Mcilorum has been cited for his spear tackle on Wilkin during the Saints match?
Reading Bilko's Twitter it would appear that Hock has received a caution for throwing the ball into the crowd.

No, just Heath Le Strange from Bradford for the spear tackle Hargreaves got sent of for. Ref got the wrong man.

| I think Hargreaves looked unlucky on the replay.
Micky Mac's didn't seem too bad tbh. He ended up landing him pretty safely and before this season it would have been seen as a good tackle.

| He (Tomkins) and Hock are both Wigan lads and therefore I presume Wigan fans for many many years.
They both just scored to make the biggest game of the year safe, so of course they are going to celebrate and be smug.
I'd do the same.
Next time Saints win this fixture and one of our guys does the same, I'll be laughing at the Wigan fans reactions, which will be very similar to ours on Friday.
It's part and parcel and hopefully will spur on the 17 in the redvee next time we meet.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| Hock had obviously taken plenty of abuse, you can lipread him say "f*****g w*****s" as he's walking back from his try
