| well Saints have just gone to Yorks and lost.
Surely going to Leeds and winning (regardless of how well we play) is a sign of improvement from last season, when we were consistently out of the top 4 throughout the year.
And even if our attack stuttered, we showed guts, determination and a solid defence; which are pre-requisites for a top 4 team.
Glass half full lads.
Sets up the Fri game vs Cas very nicely indeed (espy with Escare to come back after a good Reserves showing)

I’d say penalty and sin bin about right to be honest. I’d be surprised if he was banned but with the RFL you just never know.

| I’d like to think it would be sin bin sufficient, I don’t think there was much in it to be fair. Definitely a penalty and a sin bin but it doesn’t warrant a ban surely.

God knows the score would have been if we'd been anything like normal.
Very good shifts for Farrell, Isa and Bateman. In fact, surprised no one has really talked about Farrell in terms of man of the match when he's made 48 tackles and 152 metres in a game that was all about the arm wrestle. Not sure how long they played, but Tautai and Navarette's stats are underwhelming.

| Both Leeds and Wigan were awful in this game. Unfortunately for us, Wigan were less awful than Leeds and deserved to win. All of those blaming the ref for Leeds loss need to remove their rose-tinted specs. As for those accusing Wigan of cheating, whilst we need to rid our game of this behaviour, every team is guilty of behaving like this as much as each other.
...with the exception of Melbourne Storm as they have Billy Slater.

Faz has looked back to his old self this season. In 2017 he seemed to lose the plot at times, was overly-aggressive and gave away a lot of penalties (it was about 3 times as many has he concenced n 2016). He's playing really well again now and he's not giving away the penalties.

I noted at the game Navarette was really blowing towards the end of his spell and he went off after about 18 minutes I think and didn’t come back on IIRC.
Not sure if he’d picked up a knock. His fitness looks much improved this year but with still a way to go.

Still a "bit" to go to get back to his best IMO but certainly he's much improved.
What I will say though is bear in mind the rib injury he had that he as out for 4/5 months with.
It was a real nasty one and imo may have contributed somewhat to his dip in form or any kind of statistical analysis of performance.

With Tautai being off form, he's got a great opportunity to take his spot, but I've not really seen him do much to justify that.

Isa really is an unsung hero for you guys. Really puts it about in a controlled aggressive manner can see why Wane likes him

When he’s on the field I’ve been impressed but he still doesn’t look fit enough to do any spells of longer then 10-15 mins. He looks ‘fitter’ but still not as fit as he needs to be which is a worry. His impact whilst on has been good with a good average carry and his work in defence looks good (and aggressive) but he needs to keep working hard.
The less said about Tautai’s ‘form’ the better. He’s hardly had a good spell in the last 12 months after the ink dried on his new deal and even a spell out of the team didn’t look to shake him in to action at Leeds. He made 25m from 5 carries in the game and when you have a lad like him who isn’t a workhorse in defence, it’s tough to defend his displays.
