| Cas and Warrington agreed a deal for cas to buy him back. This is 100% from a Cas director.
Clark could not agree a deal with Cas as Cas wanted to put in his contract that he could not leave to a Superleague club and only NRL. Clark declined so moves on to Warrington. All 100% accurate.

| Quote St pete="St pete"It's hard to compare Clarke and Micky Mac as they are completely different types of hookers. Same goes with trying to compare Roby and Micky Mac, it's not really possible as different style hookers.
Micky Mac is more of a passer of the ball from acting half, works hard, aggressive and is a enforcer which obviously fits in at Wigan.
Roby and Clarke are more the running type hookers so stat wise they will be massively up on Micky Mac but that's not to day they are playing any better as stats are mis-leading.
IMO if all the three play to their best ability then Roby walks it, he's by far the best out the 3 and arguably one of the best hookers but has been poor this year by his standards.
Based on this seasons form from the games I've seen, I think Clarke has been the best out the 3 with not much in it between robes and Micky Mac.'"
Probably the most reasoned post on this thread.
All three are great rugby league players, and there is no doubt that on Saturday McIlorum had a poor game.
My thoughts are that when McIlorum has a good game, and he has had quite a few this season already, his style of play is what is more likely to help us beat the Aussies. I Like Clark and Roby has been a top player all his career but i don't see them frightening anybody at international level, whereas i do feel McIlorum has that x factor that should see him as the England No 9.

According to the warrington Chairman, Clarke has signed for wire and it will be announced in the next 10 days. Replacement for michael Monaghan

This and St Petes post to which you responded are all that is worth reading in this train wreck of a thread

Unfortunately I agree. What started out as a genuine thread has descended into petty squabbling.
McNamara will probably pick Matt Diskin anyway

All of McIlorum's strengths are without the ball. The only thing I would like better than beating up the Aussies is beating them in a series. With McIlorum we have a better chance with the former than the latter. His limitations were cruelly exposed in the WC, his sort of in your face aggression has minimal impact. Talk of frightening the Aussies is comedy gold, that sort of rubbish was spouted before the WC. With our weak HBs we need some flare elsewhere, Roby & Clarke have that in buckets.

| Clark (no e) is the best hooker in the league and should be pushing JP all the way for MOS. Roby runs him close but I genuinely believe Clark is better. I didn't realise Micky Mac was playing until he was subbed.

| McIlorum and Clark are both completely different types of players, would be the perfect mix playing 40 mins each in a team.

I had to ask the guy next to me which one Clark was.
Didn't notice him at all yesterday.
McIllorum clearly wasn't match fit yesterday (neither was O'Loughlin!), but he still crunched a few of your forwards.
He doesn't have the scooting game of Roby/Clark, but he distributes the ball well from dummy half and sets the tone in defence.
Probably my favourite Wigan player.

| Quote Bernard Manningham="Bernard Manningham"It was obvious today that Clarke was a better player, I showed that for all of this season so far, by every available metric, Clarke is significantly better. You brought medals into it, & unnecessary, classless, personal insults. Are you related to your coach?'"
MM must be better than Roby as he won the last game between the 2 and was better on the pitch....or is that only for when wigan lose?

Here we go, the old argument that if your team wins then you have automatically "owned" your opponent. Brilliant.

| When people enter into a little bit of banter with YG, just keep in mind a post he made on the Cas board, talking about Wane, and all of us....
"He sums up the Wigan club. Horrible, arrogant people who spit their dummies out then things don't go their way.
I'm delighted they lost.
