Strongly disagree with this. Would credit him from bringing us a level of competance prior to this season but in truth i think now Trent Barrett should get more of that credit than Brian Noble.

One of the first things he did was identify the need for a facility like Orrell. Whilst it was DW that funded it, it was Nobles project.

I think any coach worth there salt would have identified this to be honest, all the other clubs have a facility, maybe not as impressive but just as effective if not more so, from what i have seen the facility looks very impressive and expensive but much of it is non functional and asthetically pleasing to the untrained eye but finances could of and should have been spent in other more direct areas.
Regarding the backroom staff, his key appointment in my opinion is failing.

There is no other option but to say Thank You Brian (in a nice way) and appoint an experienced Aussie coach with a top class backroom staff.
Nathan Brown was struggling in the NRL at the Dragons but has been a revealation at Hudds and all the coaches that have pops at his teams style of play is just an excuse for their lack of ideas and the fact he has brought the NRL's wrestling plays to Hudds but hey their second.
Watching around 5 NRL games every weekend has really shocked me in my judgement of how the SL is in comparison, a currently unemployed coach like Folkes or Murray would significantly improve our perfomances but if we put a temporary coach in place and waited until the end of the season and offered a coach of the calibre of Bellamy a contract it would be worth waiting for.

Much of it is non-functional? What do you mean by that?
Given that the finances to develop Orrell came out of DW's back pocket (and then purchased by IL as part of the whole deal) I'm not sure how you expect these 'finances' to have been spent in more direct areas?

The field is functional, not sure much of the gym is, although i have to say never been to it, just from what i have seen on the internet large sections of the gym seem to be very expensive bits of kit that must gather dust for much of the season.
I maybe hold that down to the decisions made by Mick Foreshaw, but at the end of the day BN appointed him as his key advisor in this capacity.

I think you're perhaps clutching at straws there and I'd also suggest that the gym and entire facility at Orrell is used extensively by the club and will be for many years to come.

| I hope Noble does get sacked or walks away. The reason being i am sick to death of idiots like Jonh,Diesel and DaveO blaming Noble for everything and desperate for the man to fail. All those bandwagoners who have jumped on the truck should hold there heads in shame as well as the majority of you blasted Lindsay and Whelan no end for sacking coaches and claimed we needed stability. Sacking coaches was what triggered the downfall of Wigan in the first place and led to new coaches wanting to change the squad around time and time again. Noble has half built the team yet is still missing vital players in key positions. If you think any coach could do better with such a poor front row and a cr@p 7 and inexperienced 6 then you need a reality check. The days of teams lying down and rolling over for Wigan have long gone and the facts are teams have overtook us and the salary cap has made sure that the competition is more even and anybody can beat anybody. The only way to sucseed nowaday is to build a team over a good few years and get some stabilty across the board not press the panic button when things are not going right. Warrington pressed the panic button with Cullen and have gone backwards if anything and have shown little sign of improvement under Tony Smith who the Noble haters regard as a master coach.

What i am saying with conviction is that the money spent on equiping that gym from what i have seen has not been well spent if you are looking at a functional aspect of training rugby league athletes, especially if they have access to another facility such as a comercial gym such as a JJB which i understand they did at the time, not sure if that is still the case but at the time the facility was kitted out is was.
Most other clubs have a much poorer budget and invest heavily in functional kit and not the comercial gym kit that there is at Orrell, that is reserved to the partnering gyms in the local community that the club do not have to pay for and infact get paid to use.
