I'd rather us go for Myler than Fien. Myler will leave Salford end of 2009.
Clubs interested are us, Wire & Leeds.
Leeds, re-signed McGuire and Burrow on five year deals in 2008 so Myler will struggle there to command a regular first team place.

Wire, need a half back as Briers goes end of this year. They have the money to pay any transfer fee Salford may want. Would a born and bred Widnes lad want to play for Wire?

Wigan, we also need a half back as Smith is going home. We can pay any transfer fee Salford may want and he'd be coming to a bigger club with better support and better younger players than Wire have.

Salford will have a big say, McRae said they are short of money. They are also short of quality players. Wigan could do a deal of a player or two plus cash for Myler.
That to me would be the deal Salford would be looking for if they were to let Myler go whilst he's under contract rather than a straight cash only deal.

If it's a case of signing Myler for 2010 or not at all then we've got to go for it then imo.

Cash plus Goulding and Hansen would be my offer which would allow us to promote Mossop/Farrell/Flanagan etc which i think we need to do.

Is he really that good? I'd be very wary of a deal like that. Cash and maybe one of those players.

Let's be brutally honest, looking at our back row now, at least one of Hansen, O'Loughlin, Hock, J. Tomkins, Farrell, Mossop and Flanagan is going to make way in the next couple of years.

If Hansen was to be sacrificed, I'd rather lose him earlier to bring in a player like Myler rather than just him go when his current contract expires.

I'd say so plus i don't really see Lenagan wanting to part with that much cash so we may have to offer a couple of players.

Tough to judge what they'd be asking but i can't see it being any less then 250k. He's 10 years younger then Gleeson who we gave 100k plus a player for, he's just breaking through onto the international scene and i think most people expect him to go on and become a top top player.

He's only a kid, isn't he? If they're genuinely asking that, it'll be Union where he's headed - either that, or we'll all wait until his contract expires and then they'll get nothing.

I can't see Wigan having any interest in Fien, he's a bit of a nothing player and noit at all what Wigan need.

100K Plus a player for a 29 year old with 3-4 years left in him

250k for a 19 year old kid with 12-13 years left in him

I know thats a very basic way of looking at it because Gleesons an experienced international and all that but Myler has an international cap and will make that 2 against France imo. He's also very likely to be in the quad nations squad.

If i were in charge of Salford i'd be looking for something along those line.

250k sounds a good estimate to me, purley because the hype factor along with some superb performances will have pushed his price sky high. not to mention the fact that there is speculation that at least 3 SL clubs in for him.

apparently hull are showing interest in orford but are also been linked with kimmorley. both players we have been linked with in the past. would be a shame for us to miss out on one of these two
