I've nothing particularly against Hull KR, and I don't want to see them struggle. But speaking as a fan whose club has been severely penalised in the past for 'breaking the spirit' of the game's rules, how is this kind of thing permissable?
It's just plain ridiculous.

talk about bending the rules , I thought the rule states a de registerd player cant re register in the same season the RFL are a joke

It is ludicrous and the lack of consistency and fairness brings the game into disrepute (yet again).
There are a number of potential explanations:
1. There was/is an anti-Wigan bias in the RFL
2. The RFL is incompetent
3. There was/is an anti-Wigan bias in the RFL and the RFL is incompetent
Personally I'd go for option 2, just ahead of option 3. |

In all seriousness. The RFL has to do something. A team can't just pick and choose which Australians it wants to play and de-register the one they don't.
If the RFL doesn't do anything. Teams will sign more Aussies but just de-register the ones they don't want.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

At the end of the day, this aspect of it doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is that we weren't allowed to waste our money because it wasn't 'in the spirit' of the game. |

| What about the spirit of the overseas quota?
The whole thing stinks, tongan passports, terminating dobbos contract (the rfl stated he was a free agent so therefore out of contract), registing mason, then changing thier minds and re-registering dobbo to play in a hull derby which he wasnt in the squad for but mason was  (so i assume mason is a free agent as he cant be under contract with them  ).
I wonder where this spirit of rules has gone now? or was that made up just to punnish Wigan?
either way it does make the RFL look like a spineless look the other way men.......... |
