| Quote: ChrisA "Can't make the game this week as I'm away, can't say I'm overly fussed as win or lose, I can't see any good rugby. It's about more than winning, it's how you do it, and at the moment we do it in such a mundane fashion going to games seems more of a chore than something to look forward to.'"
Probably how 90% of the supporters feel. Will i ever again get the buzz of the "christmas eve feeling as a child" the night before a game of rugby, somehow i doubt it.

| Surely there's always that optimism at the start of a new season?
I won't be at the Derby, I'm back in Cornwall now, although I plan to be home on Friday, and will make an effort to find a pub prepared to screen it (no easy matter where I live).
I was going to say, we're secure in the top four anyway, but I guess if we keep losing, perhaps not. Though it looks like the best slim hope for Cats and Cas would be for Saints to have a collapse, not us.

| Josh and George in the squad after the injury scares earlier in the week or is it all smoke and mirrors from Wane again . Suspect it might be and won't be surprised if either or neither play .

| Why would people get excited for it when the last one was just three or four weeks ago and we're not playing well?

What are you on about? They both picked up knocks last week and are doubtful. Wane has said he'll look at them during the team run today and make a decision.

It shows how times change MadDogg
I used to get the derby game buzz on the Monday morning prior to the game and irrespective of when our last game against them was but Sadly this one is a shrug of the shoulders game for me

| The conditions are going to be poor, so even less attempt at open rugby and more brute force rugby league.

The rain is due to taper off towards late afternoon/early evening so it could have dried off a bit by then. Hopefully it will be a bit more of an open, flowing game for us (and a dire pathetic performance by the thoroughly outclassed Stains).

| Strongly disagree with all the negativity on here towards this game. Regardless of form and "style of play" this is a derby, in the play offs, and a game we must win for various reasons. Confidence wise it could kick start us at the most important time of the season, and secondly, we could really do with a home semi final, going to Warrington or Hull doesnt seem very appealing at the minute.
Stop the moaning and support the team. You'd think our season was over the way some people on here go on.
"Im bored"
"I dont like the way we play"
So what? Id take a 2-0 win every week if we won the Grand Final.

I've been like that all season and I thought it was simply a case of get our better players back on the field and we'll be fine. I must admit my confidence has been eroded these past few weeks though. We've had a better side on the pitch and have had no more injuries then most of the teams we've faced but something doesn't feel right. Our attitude and determination looks as poor as I've seen it for a while. I think confidence is low and the players looks like they're only allowed to express themselves when we've got ten minutes to pull out backsides out of the fire.
Tonight is huge! Saints are weakened (but so are we) but even so a solid, determined and confident display could really but some doubts to bed. We need to get the win tonight to use it as a platform for the back end. If we don't I'm starting to doubt we've got enough games left to build any proper momentum up.
I'm desperate for us to win at Old Traffird this year. The club has taken so much sh*te from opposition clubs and supporters this year that a win in the Grand Final would be the sweetest of them all IMO. I think that desperation is bringing a bit of pessimism out in me.

Agreed was just going to post similar, big game for me, the players, fans and the club need to get some confidence back, need to finish in the top 2, the "Tics" are away semi final w/end so no ground issues, still can't get " full side " out but they have suspensions, need a performance and a win !!

| Although I'm down beat, I still want us to win as much as ever. My comments and mainly born out of frustration, and of the mentality that Wane cannot get us playing to our potential. That said, I hope to God he proves me wrong and we go out and play some stunning rugby league over the next month or so. I'll be the first one to sing SW praises if this happens and my gob will be well and truly shut.
