| Thought some of the 'tackled in the air' penalties were laughable. It seemed that every 50/50 kick in the air was either a Wigan knock on or a penalty to St Helens. They may have been spot on but that's my opinion from the game anyway.

Strangely that was my feeling at the game but I thought Wigan was getting all the 50/50 calls. It's just we are all biased to our own team even if we think we ain't.

Well we didn't get any from high kicks but I get what you're saying and you're spot on.
It is amazing how two people see the same game so differently.

| As a neutral Felt cheeted of £50 paid for ticket. Flower got what he deserved and Let his team down but lance should have gone as well and the fact he's been charged is evident had the officiating team done their job he would seen red.
Walmsley and moon both sent off in recent weeks but with the help of the video ref which should be allowed. Yet the vid ref didnt do anything on saturday. Lance covers 30 yards to get flower and is quite evident on the replay. Plus the blatant holding down which should have produces a yellow card.

Well Robert Hicks informs Bentham that it's a bad one on the replays I've seen. Quite how he has seen without watching the screen I don't know.
Hohaia was never getting carded after what happened either way. Masoe was the one who should have IMO.

| As a neutral also i thought Bentham had a good game and iv'e not said that very often, but he was very consistent to both teams. Cant think of one decision i thought was wrong, apart from that Hohia should have got 10 mins

The only decisions i'm annoyed by was not binning josh jones after charnley made a break and the knock on against pettybourne that the cameras didn't even see. Paul Wellens did though, but he wasn't even looking so I wonder how he knew the ball had come free.
The most stupid decisions (apart from Flower deciding to chin hohaia) were Bowen's not to pass and the decision to kick for goal when 8-6 down.

Bowen's was criminal and made worse by his offload to Bateman rather than taking the tackle.
I had no issue with going for goal. Take your points when behind and get level. Different game then. The issue was missing and it not going dead.
Bowen's decision not to challenge Makinson on the kick was poor too. Let him have it fine, but you smash him when he has you don't let him roll over you to score.

| Bentham ruined the final in the second minute - its clear Flower should have walked but how Hohaia got away with an attack to the head beggers belief? It should have been 12 v 12.
The fact that the perennial cheat Hohaia has now been charged is vindication that once again the referee favoured Saints in the crucial decisions (just like the disgraceful refereeing display in the Saints v Catalan game).
Once Bentham can master the basics of foul play perhaps he can then address the continual whining to the referee by the likes of Wellens and that foul mouthed oaf LMS .... it ruins the game. (I shudder to think what Souths will do to the high fiving, cheerleader LMS).

| Every kick we put into the corner, their centres etc shepherded and blocked the wigan chasers, not just stood their ground, but actively changed their path to block the oncoming players (as they had done vs Cats and Hudds), did the Specsavers crew even penalise this??? I don’t remember if they did…

Hohaia retaliated... Flower started it all by smacking him in the back of the head when he'd turned his back on him to watch the kick. It was Hohaia who was acting under the effects of the red mist... But let's not let facts get in the way of a good excuse for a defeat, eh?
Nice grammar by the way. Your teachers must be very proud.

| An inconsistent performance I agree. Wigan drive the Saints player into touch but yet he called held despite he was still moving - Saints play the ball.
Saints drive Burgess into touch in exactly the same way - scrum to Saints!

Correction the tone of the match was set by that 9 minute fatman shoulder charging a Wigan player in the first tackle. Hohaia then does what he does best - niggling play - hence the attempted obstruction on Flower.
An attempted jaw breaker was always going to result in a runners up medal for Lance. Flowers mistake was the second punch - job done with the first punch !
Maybe Lance needs to learn a lesson from this episode - don't start what you can't finish.
Congrats by the way on the win ... wonder what the result had been if Bentham had made the correct call and red carded Hohaia for his (admittedly poor) attempt at a jaw breaker? It would then have been 12 v 12 (hence the charge against Hohaia) if Hohai's head assault had been punished - as you say though don't let the facts get in the way of a correct argument.
If you are having problems reading other people comments, maybe you could get dad to help you with the longer words?

Not to mention the two professional fouls (holding down) which should have resulted in yellow cards.
