I've always been a big fan of Gelling, who IMO may well improve and really become one to remember (not convinced he actually improved this season I just think his performances have been the result of being given a run of games at centre). However, Burgess has just about pipped him for me, he's had quite a season. Surprised I'm the only one who gave Clubb a mention, a real surprise package considering how little we expected of him

Very good point about Gelling. Like I say, Burgess has been fanatastic. Only reason I picked Gelling was because Manfredi's good try-scoring rate has in recent weeks taken a bit of shine of Burgess's somewhat. Both fantastic though. And Clubb has been good, although the injury kept him out for a while. Interesting to see not many people picking Props as well so far, shows the need for a bigger pack next season.

| Injuries have probably put paid to two certainties for me in McIlorum and Green although if they get some games before the end of the year they'll be able to push back in as the competition isn't huge (due to our form and injuries).
As it stands I'd go-
Bateman- consistently very good
Farrell- Thought he'd have more votes tbh. He's scored try's, set them up, made breaks and been rock solid in defence as usual.
Bowen- Getting better and better and has been our best player in recent months.

| Really struggling this year if I'm honest. Far too much disruption in the squad for anyone to have put in a particularly memorable run of form - and those that do spring to mind I wonder if I'm being a tad biased due to what I'd expected of them (Bateman/Burgess). Subdued year for me, with a great exploration of our depth without any major standouts. If you forced me to pick I'd say Taylor has probably scraped top player for us this year imo.

Taylor would probably drop out of my top 3 because he had a bit of a mid-season dip in form IMO. If I had to pick 3 now I'd say Smith, Farrell and Bateman. They've been pretty consistent and haven't been hit by long injuries like some of our other top performers (e.g. Green, Lockers, McIlorum, Clubb). Burgess has been very good but I think there are areas of his game he needs to improve, particularly defensively. Gelling has had a great season also, but I still have concerns that he does some things very well but struggles with some of the more "bread and butter" aspects you expect from a centre at the top level.

| 1. Gelling
2. Smith
3. Lockers/Burgess
Gelling has been consistently phenomenal, no team has been able to handle him down that edge, his transformation this year has been a joy to behold!

Agreed the injuries make it very hard to come up with a good set of three.
Before the wheels came off in this regard I thought Faz and Burgess caught the eye. I don't think Faz goes so well against big packs but when he is running wide out left he is very effective and Burgess is a natural.
For sheer class Bowen has to be in there. He can do stuff other players can't so that gets him a vote from me. So:
1. Bowen
2. Burgess
3. Faz

This is spot on. I really don't think there is a stand out player and most have had a few poor games. Any player that you sort of think of is more of a most improved/better than expectations sort of player rather than them being consistently good.
