As someone else has said the use of the F word is not necessary.

I realise in today's society it is commonplace but it is just plain wrong.

Also as a 50 year old I quite like to join in with the singing but what you all need to realise is that I will not sing that song sat next to my wife and 14 year old.

If you don't like it, don't sing it. However, you are the minority. Most of the stadium was singing it yesterday. Change the words, or don't sing it.

Jim of Wigan or Dim of Wigan?

This has got to be a wind up.

I actually think its hilarious how irate some people get over bad language at a sports game, Its kind of expected especially with the passion that goes into a derby match. Kids hear worse at school anyway and the constant tannoy updates reminding us to 'keep it clean' in a 'family stadium' just kills the atmosphere. Football fans don't seem to care and family's go to watch that...

Have you done a survey? I'd be fairly certain that less than 50% were singing it as I have yet to hear anywhere near 50% of people sing any song.

Whilst it isn't ideal (I have two young lads myself) it's been part of Rugby League since I can remember (early 80's) and they choose to ignore it.

Wire to us (Who the F***ing hell are Wigan/pope song).
Us to Wire (Wanky Wanky Warrington)...still a sexual swear word.
Us to Saints (If you hate St Helens, if you really f***ing hate them).
Us to Leeds (All Yorkshire men sh*g sheep / sheep, sheep sheep sh*ggers).
Us to anyone (Build a bonfire, burn the f***ing lot).
Us to anyone (You'll win win F**k all again, St Helens/Rhinos/Warrington).
Us to any referee (Referee, you're a w*nker, you're a w*nker).

I could go on. It's not a new phenomenon, so why all the hysteria all of a sudden?

A couple of weeks ago, two young lads went past me on bikes (neither older than 7/icon_cool.gif, both effing and jeffing. I spoke to my eldest lad who is ten and I asked him if there is a lot of swearing in the playgrounds, he said there was....and a lot of it came from the girls. eusa_naughty.gif

The swearing is unnecessary and I can understand why people wouldn't like it but I've never seen it as a massive issue. Parents may well want to keep their kids away from bad language but generally it's a futile effort and more importantly if kids are brought up well they'll know the difference between right and wrong and know what language they can and can't use.

Trying to prevent kids from hearing such language is the only reasonable objection to it to be honest but it's something that's difficult to prevent and as others have said it's not likely to make much difference on kids as they'll hear it in other places. Perhaps people should give kids a bit more respect and not assume they blindly copy what they see others doing.

It's also surprising that if people think bad language is an issue that it's never been raised because of the w*nky Warrington song.

Has this chap been in a monastery 'til now? Welcome to the real world matey, if you genuinely balk at the odd expletive I'd suggest a quieter game: chess anyone?

Girls are worse than lads its terrible, League is a good, strong, Northen, working mans game. Imagine going pack in time and telling the crowds what to do? Far too much PC these days pretty soon we wont be able to clap or cheer in case it upsets people trying to read in the house across the street because of 'stadium noise pollution'.

You have this the wrong way round. If YOU don't want to obey the stadium rules then YOU don't go!

In fact the worst one BY FAR we ever sung was the Tommy Martyn one (with a packet of sweets & cheesy smile, Tommy you're a f**king paedophile).

Not a good one that one.

I have a better idea... stop being a Don't use that word on this board again. JTB about things and get on with it, its people like you that complain and kill the atmosphere at games... or better still if you're that concerned don't take the kids, put them in bubble wrap and never let them out of the house

Let's turn a blind eye to bad behaviour then.

Have you never heard the saying "for evil to prosper, all it needs is for good men to do nothing".

In my opinion today's society is busted due to parents accepting and promoting yobbish behaviour.

When Laukiki was spark out yesterday I saw men of my age from St Helen's foaming at the mouth with glee. I told them they had no class and they thought I was talking a foreign language.

I accept I am in the minority on this but I happen to think I am right!
