Whippet? You were lucky! I had to eat my whippet during the great depression...then we had to lick road clean wit' tongue!

| Its safe to assume they will sell quite a few shirts, tshirts, scalfs etc, theres usually bonuses in the sponsors contracts for final appearances etc as especially the challenge cup gives great exposure
But this is the downside of only having 3 weeks to sort it all out not much time for the club to order stuff
On the other hand having two home games before gives them a chance to sell stuff aswell

| I put this in another thread......
"I hope people snap up loads of merchandise for the challenge cup final. I remember the Hull FC website saying shirt sales had passed 30,000 when they got to the final. Hopefully be more profit for the club and a full end of cherry and white. Hopefully all the flags and scarfs people buy will attend other games as well.
A trip to Wembley and a trip to Old Trafford should mean a very tidy profit for the club this year, not many sports clubs can say they are making good profit at times like these."
So if we can sell all that extra merchandise, plus the ticket sales, plus the coach and the train profits, plus the extra gate receipts we could get from winning a trophy.... I wouldn't be too shocked if it gets close to that mark.
As for the money from the RFL for tickets... I reckon it will be more than that. A full Wembley on matchday makes well over 2million I think.

Luxury. I had to share a cardboard box outside in the snow with my whippet AND 6 of my brothers.

| I seem to recall Wigan saying that winning at Wembley every year (80s early 90s) was worth a million and that's how Wigan was fully pro when all the other clubs was basically amateur.

Jesus Christ! Chill out!
The point I'm making, Wigan winning the challenge cup every year was worth a million back in the 80s and early 90s which helped Wigan be a full time team.
It's not often I post on this board and now I see why!

Well next time, come back with factual information rather than lies and you'll be made more than welcome .

I'm not telling lies.
I read somewhere that the Wembley trip you lot made every year paid the players wages fir the year and that's how Wigan was fully pro.
Maybe Brian will have more info as I was a young las at the time but I'm pretty sure that's what Wigan used to say.
It seems that anytime someone posts on here that's not pie, they get shot down!

You actually stated
Quote: St pete "I seem to recall Wigan saying that winning at Wembley every year (80s early 90s) was worth a million and that's how Wigan was fully pro when all the other clubs was basically amateur.'"
The fact that Leeds were fully pro before us seems to be missed by everyone as they put Wigan's success down to money and being fully pro.

The problem we get on this board is the constant comments (at least once a month) from ill-informed rival supporters that Wigan only won during the late 80's early 90's was due to them being fully pro and the rest were amateurs.
Leeds went fully pro before Wigan.
