You say that but I did see on Sky Sports News that Matterson trashed him as well and basically said he spoiled the contest rotten.

'"
True. I mean at the beginning the video ref was great because the refs had all been trained to not rely on it and to make calls and only use it if they were genuinely unsure. Since Cummings became boss of the refs that premise has flipped completely. They are now sh*t scarred of getting a decision wrong and I think ultimately that has to dent performance. If your always thinking negative, performances are going to be negative? I don't think the plonkers on sky help mind, arguing over every little decision.
Oh and yes the touch judges are really poor.

| I think refs are ruining a lot of games, purely because of the amount of times they do blow up for no reason. Need to let a lot more flow.

| I just don't get how the Yawnion refs are just streets ahead of ours.
On the rare occasion I watch the kick and clap, their refs and touch judges miss very little.

That's because they play at slugs pace and don't really have a defensive line to deal with.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

They do tell the ref what they have seen, using the radios.
However, 3 times last night, Silverwood was told of Leeds players being offside (which is fine) and then that they were involved in the tackle (which should be a penalty)
He ignored all of them.

Bingo! Just because the touch judge isn't running about with his flag aloft doesn't mean he isn't having any input

| The touch judges have been inept in numerous matches this season, where the crucial pass was at least several yards forward.
Leeds's try against Saints a few weeks ago from Watkins's pass. All agreed on Sky about this one.
Saints 1st try last week against Bradford ( Brian Carney commented on this on one of the Sky review prorammes.)
And dare I mention Meli's try at Cardiff....?!!
No doubt Hull fans would dispute Charnley's tries from Lockers's long passes, but I would argue they were line-calls or Stevo's momentum rule...!

Do you not think though the touch judge could have more of a say when judging a forward passes, or even when a team is offside etc? Its not hard, but at times it seems they have very little communication with the man in the middle.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

| The Lima sin binning was a disgrace.
The rule says that a player can't tackle the standing leg of a player.
"Standing" mean staionary. At no point in the incident was Clarkeson stationary or on a stood still on a standing leg.
When Lima decided to tackle, Clarkson was running. At the point of impact the Leeds player had the tackled leg off the ground as he was still running. Basically his legs were pumping as he pushed the two Wigan tacklers back.
Silverwood made his decision on the word on the TJ's.
They said he tackled the standing leg, which was nonsense!
It was a legitimate tackle.

That's my take on it too. How can you have a standing leg if you'r moving? Hopefully the disciplinary panel see it the same way. Silverwood binned Michael Shenton for the same thing last week but he didn't recieve a ban
