| Goulding had a shocker all round tonight, kept being caught out of position and Morris took advantage of it with his tries.

Unfortunately I'd have to agree. It's alright saying he was up against a world class winger; the fact is he barely got anywhere near Morris because he kept taking the wrong man. It was the same mistake over and over again and he probably shouldn't keep his place. He's one of my favourite players but I have to admit that he made too many errors and it can't simply be put down to the fact that Morris is a good winger.

| For the last few years I've noticed Goulding flies off his wing infront of his centre and tackles the opposition centre before he has chance to pass to his winger, in theory a good option but against top drawer opposition you get caught with your pants down as he did tonight. For the first try watch where Goulding is as the try is scored, he's stood on the dead ball line after running after a dummy runner like a dog after an ice cream van.

Spot on.
He flies off the wing far too often for my liking, and Morris is way too good a player to do that against.
In the battle between Goulding and Morris tonight, Goulding came 5th.

He was still the better of our two wingers IMO, they definitely targeted that wing though and it paid off with 3 tries

Correct but Morris is world class, Goulding is a solid club man nothing more

Would need some £££ for transfers, although IL has paid transfer fees already
Transfers count on the salary cap, correct?

| Goulding is a solid at best SL player always has been always will be. He can get away with it at SL level but regards top level ability it is simply something he will never have. I would not like to see him picked for England again, as its simply a waste of a spot.
I have however had a change of heart regards the 2 experiments we have going on at the moment.
I feel that Sam Tomkins if he is ever going to reach his potential needs to be playing at 6. He simply is not as effective at 1 while he has time on the ball against SL teams at 1 against the best defences in the world they also have time to shut him down. He is far superior as a player at first or second receiver.
Joel shocked me tonight and showed turns of pace that I never thought he could have. I think he needs major work conditioning wise to drop some weight and improve footwork but tonight I saw potential in him as a centre.

Hold on. On more than one occasion he was faced with a 3v1 situation. Which stemmed from our inability to stop the offload. IMO he did well

Agreed with all this, Sam's a good #1 in SL but will struggle with very well drilled defences.
Mossop was also quality when he played a stint at prop i thought

| Thinking back on the game and watching it again i'm a little more disappointed at the silly mistakes we made which led to there trys.
Goulding and Gleeson both underperformed tonight.
SGI first try came straight from Gleesons knock on which was completely unopposed.
There 2nd try Goulding was way off his wing and Morris had an easy score, Gleeson had Cooper covered easily and Goulding was in no mans land.
Cameron Kings try was absolutely awful, totally unlike the defence we've had since Madge has come in. Prescott and Mossop should have tackled him easily. Mossop should of got right underneath him.

Agreed aswell regards both Tomkins brothers although i wouldnt move Joel yet he has too much to offer imo in the SR.
Sam at 6 can play 1st 2nd or even 3rd reciever just like he can at fullback. A problem i have with Sam at fullback is i dont think he has the physical ability to stop players crashing over from close to our line.

I think the King try was down to Farrell. He simply runs away from his responsibility as marker leaving us short in this area. The second King came on he looked like causing us trouble round the ruck, he injected pace in that area that both teams lacked all night.
Mossop and Faz will go far in this game both will be top class players for me and reach there potential. They have all the tools in the bag. Sam does also, but if he is used at full back I worry that we will never see them at the top level.
Back to Goulding, he has a great work ethic and I have bags of respect for him for achieving what he as, but he for me has a genuine lack of ability, he has reached his potential and has no tools that will move him forward as an outside back.
Personally I would prefer to see Charnley of Pryce given a shot as i think both have bags more potential than Goulding, who has for me reached his potential.

Billy Boston was famous for flying in off the wing and flattening the centre..........but Gouldings not Billy, and gets the timing wrong imo
