I think he might be a bit older than 47 - forget the so called "official age" given in programmes etc. He made his debut in 83/84 season. For me he was older than 20 then. He'd been playing rugby union (for Vulcan?) for quite a while. I'd say he was more 49/50.
Same with Sean Long - made his debut ( I think in 94/5 season). How old was he then and how "old" is he now? I'm not sure how old he was claiming to be a couple of years ago, but I must say I didn't think it tallied with what I would have expected.

He did. Granada TV cameras were there to capture Edwards' historic debut, and Hampo on his debut stole the show, Edwards was pretty quiet in that game. |
